      And THAT is my point...

OL isn’t a dire need...but you don’t pass up the higher rated player...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

This is probably a little bit OT, but aren't we pretty much always waiting at the podium with whatever pick we make. It feel like the Steelers tend to make their picks decisively.

For me, first round is all about getting a contribution THIS year. I think our FO believes we can win a SB in the next year or 2.

After that it's rebuild time. I would be shocked if we went QB in round one.
          I don't want a contributor in the first,... I want a difference-maker.

I remember saying pretty much the EXACT same thing about this time a few years back......I was talking about Jarvis Jones. Ouch!

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

            TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

              who doesn’t?

but I don’t want a guy who isn’t going to see the field his first year selected in the first round.

I Was a JJ hater before & after draft. A Mike Adams table banger before & all the way to the pick lol

I wanted Pouncey & Decastro in their drafts..Never thought we get. Nelson another one of those guys.

You know there is equally a chance of an offensive player at TE, WR, OG & RB as ILB & S. Actually easier route offensively at #4 WR, RB through camp-preseason, & #2 TE. Even Foster can be easily overtaken. His age, salary, & last year of deal makes him a keeper for back-up. ILB has to beat out VW-BOSTIC. Safeties in place but if they get a good "C2" he can see field in Sub. Every 1st has to beat someone out to see field.

Yep! This is why you fill all the starter spots with starter capable players...then, you can upgrade one any number of positions in each round of the draft.
