Will the Browns turn it around? Or will they always be DNA Level C?

They're really stocking up on marquee players this year ... does that mean they're going to be contenders soon?

Or will their situation never change until their ownership does?

I'm thinking at the least they won't get in our way this year. After that ... ?

Get back to me when they get a real, legit QB. Right now they’re a rudderless ship. They do this every year; they make good offseason moves but ignore their one glaring need.

They just landed Carlos Hyde as well. If anything, they are giving themselves a lot of flexibility in a draft that they have a ton of premium picks.

They might win 4-6 games. So basically a record breaking success within that franchise.
          Trolls are people too.

with them signing Hyde, we now really don't know what their going to do with the first pick in the draft. I now would have to think they go QB and the Giant will have a tough decision of going Barkley or going QB. I'd like to see Barkley fall to the Colts at # 3 but who knows now.

I bet that's about right for next year (although maybe more games if others in the division regress).

Of course, this is a pivotal draft for them. If they can get an average to above-average QB (someone like Dalton or Flacco), I think they can consistently compete for the division championship for a while (especially if Ben retires in 2-3 years). If they get a real franchise QB, I think that they have the potential to compete for multiple SBs over the next decade (even Brady will retire sometime).

However in the Brown-iest timeline, both of their top 5 picks will be out of the league in 5 years and they'll still be terrible forever.

As a Steelers fan, I'm hoping for option 3, but I think that the Browns have a real shot to at least consistently compete for the division over the foreseeable future.

I think the Browns are on the right path but the signing of Hyde is puzzling to me.

Maybe the Browns have no intentions of grabbing Barkley. In light of what Northern Blitz said, they are a franchise QB away from being very competitive. What if...this extremely unlikely scenario happened? They draft two QBs with the first 4 picks. It's never happened to my knowledge but if the Browns are truly sick of not having a real QB its an option.

But, my suspicion? They plan on trading away that first pick. Hyde gives them the ability to do that.

That sounds nuts! That is like NBA teams in lottery, you just draft BPA, and then flip them.

This is a deep class of RB, they can draft one in the 2nd!

I was thinking the same is there much difference between Cromwell and Hyde, if they wanted a solid veteran RB.

I think they still draft Barkley #1.

They may but I think they made the Hyde move to either draft Chubbs or trade out of that position.

Trading out would be a terrible decision IMO.

Dallas used the first overall pick in the 1989 draft to select QB Troy Aikman, and then in the supplemental draft in that same offseason, used a first round pick to also select QB Steve Walsh. This move meant that they surrendered their first round pick in the 1990 draft, which ended up being first overall again after the Cowboys went 1-15 in 1989.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.
