Last year, Markus Wheaton, Jarvis Jones, and Timmons all left in FA...the Steelers signed Tyson Alualu, Knile Davis, Coty Sensabaugh, and Justin Hunter....
It is worth noting that the combined value of the FA contracts of the players that the Steelers signed were less than either of the contracts signed by Timmons ($12 million) or Wheaton ($11 million), so I suppose it is possible the Steelers could get a late round pick...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.
Last year I believe comp pick info was out at the end of February....the 24th iirc so we don't have long to wait. Other draft pick that is up in the air is the 2nd pick in round 7 who we may get from the giants for the Cockrell trade performance based. We could always use a few extra selections.

IDK he had 2 picks in the Arizona game 3 on the season but exact terms of the trade are not known at this time. Or I should say I don't know the trade details. I'll do a little more digging on that aspect.

Of the signees...
Davis didn't make it out of camp
Hunter signed a one-year deal, and barely contributed
Sensabaugh signed a cheap two-year contract that is more of a one year plus an option. Once the team signed Haden, Sensabaugh was essentially done
Alualu signed a decent 2 year deal and contributed nicely - including 4 sacks
On the other side...
Wheaton signed for 2-$11M and did very little in an injury plagued season
Jarvis signed a 1 year, $2.25M deal that never made it out of camp (injury settlement)
Timmons played in every game after his suspension and after a 2 year, $12M contract
Projection: Alualu was probably the biggest contributor of the bunch. Although a backup, he saw plenty of time with injuries in front of him. If there is any compensation it might be a 7th rounder...but I don't think anything comes this way.
Timmons' deal might have netted a 5th round pick and Wheaton's deal might have netted a 6th round pick, but our signings of Alualu and Sensabaugh may just cancel them out entirely, even though Alualu and Sensabaugh's deals were roughly worth half of what Timmons and Wheaton's deals were. I don't believe that Justin Hunter's deal qualifies for this formula.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.
Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.
We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.
We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.
Difference maker in the middle needed to replace Shazier.
Offer picks 1.28 & 3.92 plus WR Martavis Bryant to ARZ for pick 1.15. They only have 5 draft picks now, plus their WR's are undersized (John Brown & J.J. Nelson both 5'10") or old (Larry Fitzgerald 35 y.o.).
Gets us ahead of BAL at 1.16, who's looking to replace the retired ILB Zach Orr.

Not sure if the methodology is the same, but when that Adam guy on the internet used to predict comps he was pretty accurate looking at only salary. I think that salary >> performance when they determine the comps. Not sure what the salary break points were last year for the comps.
I do think it is a combination of money and playing time...Timmons was awarded a contract worth $6 million annually and ended up playing 75% of the Dolphins defensive snaps...according to over the cap, that would put him in line for a 5th round pick as well, though he does not show up in their projections...

Sad part through it all.. had the steelers signed Timmons on a 2-year, $12 million deal, they may have been playing this past Sunday... Certainly would have had a better chance and slowing Fournette and winning that game
