    Saw Another Rumor...

...linking Hines Ward with the open WR position with the Steelers.

I think he’d do well, lack of experience notwithstanding. He loves the game and worked hard on every aspect of being a WR. He wasn’t fabulously gifted physically, but caught 1,000 passes on a run first team.

It could be intimidating for a new WR coach to come into a meeting room with Antonio Brown, but Hines could do it...

I'm sick of handing jobs to former players who have little experience

reeks of cronyism. hire real coaches

porter has been an abysmal failure and is little more than tomlins watchdog. lakes units underperform every year

Good players don’t always make good coaches.

I would prefer a legit WR coach and let Hines get his feet wet as an assistant.

Not sure about Hines desire to be a coach but he was at Latrobe every day and spent a ton of time working with JuJu for what that is worth.

Hines wasn't a natural talent. He had to work his tail off, and learn the tricks of the trade to be successful. Loved his nasty streak. We need more of that. Not sure if he can coach it up though. Would be okay with the hire.

              Huh.

The Steelers hired a “golf coach” as OC instead of a former player...he had his bonafides as a coach (including HC) but people weren’t happy...

The Steelers hired a HC with no NFL playing experience (but played college ball). He also had his bonafides as a coach...this year, he passed HoFer Joe Gibbs for most wins in his first 11 seasons...but, some people can’t be happy...

Nobody is good enough, it seems...

Yeah, Tomlin passed Joe Gibbs.....Still doesnt take the sting away from Sunday's loss though.

Hines would have a lot of wisdom to share... I wouldn't have a problem with it

A former player that is less talented will make a helluva coach. Porter and Lake was both talented and I think because of that make terrible coaches.
