I don't think you guys are giving the man enough credit...Fichtner has designed and installed offenses before and called plays...

Just because Ben is comfortable with him doesn't automatically remove his spine...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

Yeah Ben with guardrails? Nah, I prefer to let our savvy vet play some backyard ball.

I would prefer Munchak, if he has that sort of inclination. (I don't consider Munchak to be innovative or forward-thinking.) I think this mid 50's guy (Fichtner) is going to be the status quo, and that isn't what we need.
I wasn't hired for my disposition.

give Haley credit for what he was brought here to do. Turn Ben into less of a streetballer and into a more cerebral disciplined QB who took less hits. Can't argue that that mission was accomplished. I still think it's time for a change - but unless you're going to bring someone in who's a known genius, I can't argue with allowing Ben to have more control. QB's used to call their own plays. When a QB has a mastery of the field you can do stuff like that. I think of Jim Kelly and the K-gun. So as long as we're riding Ben - let's hook him up with an OC and the two of them design the game plan together. Then Ben can do his reads at the LOS and pick a winner.

Decent OC? Dude looks like he gets his plays off of Madden. And its obvious he has no concept of the game. Run the sneak on 4th and inches big guy... not a toss sweep against the fastest team in the league. Garbage is what he is.

I think this team needs an enema.

I really think Haley is "Just OK", but that's not going to cut it. He needs to go. I REALLY think Butler needs to go. We need something different/fresh/smart/physical on defense. He is a Dick L wannabe.

I'm more than fine with Randy Fichtner. The Steelers have offensive weapons all over the place and a very solid offensive line. What you need to avoid is a fool like Haley getting in the way. If Ben is comfortable with Fichtner, then by all means, install him and let the two of them work together.
