Butler was unable to adjust after losing Shazier. IMO, the fact that Sean Spence saw so much time on D was a huge indictment of Butler as a coordinator. You need to get your best guys on the field, yet we consistently played a small, slow ILB who was not quick enough to beat blocks and completely incapable of getting off blocks.
Agree 100%. Spence is not a starting ILB but he was for the Steelers. Could not get to the edge on Bortle scrambles or outside rushes. It was frustrating to watch.

'Just do your job'... well there were more than a few that didn't.

Rex Ryan may have a complex defense - but the guy is fearless and always looking to knock someone down. It's been a long time since the Steelers defense was feared. A guy like Ryan would be a good get.

As I said in another thread, I think the answer is a clean sweep starting with Tomlin. But if you're going to simply replace coordinators - I would be very happy to get Rex Ryan.

Another guy, if the Steelers were so inclined, could be Steve Spagnuolo...his defense beat the Pats in the SB...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

If they don’t get rid of Butler than Porter and Lake should be given their walking papers. Soon. Sucks to say but those groups are the weak links.

Couple of of years back the Pats lost to the Broncos in the playoffs and the NE o line was dominated. Took less than a day for Billy to fire the o-line coach. That’s what needs to happen here. Send the message people are accountable.
