    Team in turmoil

There is a lot that points to this being the Steelers year, in terms of trajectory, talent, and will. We went from playoffs in '15, to AFCC in '16, to where we are now. We have the best roster in football with a HOF QB, loaded offense, and young, hungry D, with relatively good health. And we had the bitter taste in our mouths after being humiliated by the same damn franchise yet again, in the AFCC last year. We should be well motivated.

However, can any of you recall a championship team with more drama? At what point is it too much, and it fractures the team's focus or collective will? The season ended in that FB live stuff. Then we get the AV/National anthem debacle. Then the MB drama. We now have Deebo and his defection to the enemy*. It might be too much to call it turmoil, but there is no doubt that it is all a distraction. Even the Shazier injury. Do you think it has any factor going forward this year? Can you think of other instances where this sort of thing hurt a team? Or is this all par for the course?
I wasn't hired for my disposition.

It's also the most resilient team that I can remember in many years. How many times did it appear the team would lose, only to suck it up an come back for an improbable victory (including the game against NE with Juju's play, if only Alberto Riveron understood what the replay standard is supposed to be)? They've faced nearly everything you can possibly imagine this year, and are still standing, ready to puch back.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

This....some can't help but look at everything as a negative but this team has overcome every adversity they have faced. To me that equals battle tested

Some of the drama has been overblown and media manipulated. I think all teams (just like families) have drama! I don't mind a little bit of it because I believe it is a natural occurrence... However, this latest debacle really gets in my crawl because it was so unnecessary and should have been avoided especially due to the timing (right before the playoffs!) If the coaches didn't feel JH deserved a spot on the team then he should have been gone a long time ago. Letting this thing brew as long as it did was poor management.

Also, cutting him was not the worse thing - I just hated that NE signed him, right before the playoffs when you know you might be playing them again for the championship! Who needs this kind of publicity and distraction! You can't tell me this could not have been handled better than this?

Distraction after distraction yet Tomlin has been able to keep the team together and be 12-3

You didn't mention losing Dan Rooney. That's a pretty major event.

I think we've done best over the years when pushed to the wall. We've had our share of adversity this season. #7 is on its way.

They just removed the turmoil from the locker room and he is now in New England.

Yeah, I just posted in the Harrison thread:

What a strange friggin year... Bell holds out. MB reinstated late and then wants off the team and battles with a fan over JuJu being the better receiver. Anthem debacle. AB goes off on the Gatorade jug. Haley’s STFU (Ben?) moment. Ben supposedly at odds with Haley, wanting a middle-man. We lose Shazier in such an awful, sickening way. And now this mess with Harrison.

This is 10x the adversity we faced in 2008.

It’s a miracle we’re 12-3. If we somehow win it all, I think Tomlin has to be in the discussion for COY.

what's amazing - is all the turmoil is self-inflicted. from suspensions, to water coolers, to holdouts, to PED's, to snoring........

Everything today is escalated because of peoples easily offended feelings and the speed of said things being reported.

Disagree with thread title, unless there's a "?" at the end.

A lot going on, yes. But somehow the team has stayed on an even keel despite that, so no, I don't think the team is in turmoil.

or he could have not let those distraction exist and we would have HFA

Because distractions are why teams lose games. Were the Pats** distracted when they lost to the Dolphins?

Dolphins seem to have had their number the last few years (relatively speaking).
