This is my thought. "Partial tear" is a term with very little meaning, and without clarification as to degree of injury, it could range from minor to devastating. My guess is the Steelers know more than they are letting on, as well they should. Time will tell.

I actually did read some where yesterday it referred to as a "contusion". Can a "tear" be a "contusion" and vice versa. I feel better about a "contusion," my daughter was a college soccer player and these were fairly common and even a severe one got you back close to 100% in about 2-3 weeks.

Different injuries. A contusion is a bruise. (Rule #1 in medicine is never use one syllable if 5 will do.) Unfortunately, in the time frame we are looking at, not certain it makes much difference. A contusion will be 100% in a month, I would guess. A "partial tear" might be dpending on the degree.

I must assume we are talking about a grade 1 calf tear. Which is 4-6 weeks recovery time. There's an outside chance he could play in the divisional round.
          Trolls are people too.

Yes, that explains "Ducky" in NCIS.

Nobody has a simple jaw (mandible) or "brain" (cranium) or even worse "skull" (cranial cavity). When I hear "thorax" I'm thinking of a bug.....not someones chest.
Heck, every medical examiner on TV just HAS to use dictionary language to describe anything.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

One of the reasons I have such a hard time watching these shows. Most of them mispronounce the medical terms, which just grates on my ear and I can't take it seriously.
