The steelers correctly identified which of the 'young money crew' was actually worth the money. Though I don't miss some of the antics they engaged in that first year. AB has matured in many ways since then - and the Steelers are better for it.

As I recall they did offer Wallace a contract but he wanted way too much money for basically a one trick pony - and when he refused they didn’t blink and renegotiated AB’s deal when they didn’t have to. It was not the same deal offered to each. But my memory may not be 100% on this.
