    Iloka suspension withdrawn

Unfreaking believable. Iloka suspension was rescinded while JuJu's was enforced. Is there any way what JuJu did as bad as what Iloka did????

What JuJu did isn’t as bad as what Gronk did either...

I hope he files a union grievance and challenges this...

it's the taunting... makes you question intent AND is not a look the NFL wants... it's easier for Iloka to to say it was accidental, "just trying to separate the man from the ball on a bang-bang play"

Had JuJu not stood over him, he wins the appeal. In fact, there likely isn't anything to even appeal

        ^^^^This.^^^^

There isn't an NFL player out there who doesn't know that the NFL is very protective of its image. It may not be "right", but it is the way it is.

Talking with a coworker today I said that if he didn’t stand over him I didn’t think he would of gotten a flag for the hit

Yep. The look of the play is all it took. Imagine if it was reversed and Burfict laid out Juju and stood over him. You would expect the same or worse edict. (I get he is a repeat offender but that doesn't change the look of the play in the NFL's eyes).

And all of that is exactly the problem. The official statement is that JuJu was suspended for violating safety rules...but, he wasn't suspended for that, he was suspended for standing over the player upon whom he just laid a devastating block...

He was punished for the optics, not the infraction, and that is BS...and that is why he should challenge it in every way possible, forcing the NFL to do away with arbitrary punishments and creating clear guidelines...

Exactly. Iloka's hit on Brown was just as bad as what they pretend to say JuJu's was. If Juju had simply walked away from the hit on Burfict, at the most would have been a fine. Ilolka's hit he lead with his head and he had no intent of separating him from the ball because he could have tried to rake Brown's hands from the ball upon contact. He was trying to give payback for Burfict.

Iloka should have gotten 1 game, head shot like that is dangerous. That said it was NOT as bad as the Gronk hit n that should have been at least 2 games as that was just an assault. Fortunate in both cases that the players involved were not seriously injured.

Interesting theory. My first instinct would be to say "no way," but those flags DID seem to come awfully late as if they reacted to the taunt.

It is all optics, that's the bottom line.

Because if Burfict didn't get carted off and Juju didn't taunt, it would've been much less. And if Iloka's hit KO'd AB (which it easily could have), it certainly would have been a suspension (of probably more than a game).

It is so weird, that really, they're legislating strictly based on the effects. If Gronk KO'd that guy, he'd be gone for a month. But because it didn't, he only got a game. Silly.

So now taunting is a suspendable offense?

It didn't look like taunting to me during the game. I thought Juju was just making sure Burflict didn't bounce back up and get back into the play. It was defence.
