Great clip. If I disagree with any of it, I think Whitlock may have been too hard on Iloka. The rest is spot on.

Have to admit, looking at those replays, I had thought that Juju had peeled back way more than he did. He was moving east-west at impact, and put his shoulder into Burffect`s chest. Yes, his helmet got into the headgear, yes it was a violation of the Ward rule, but not the vicious headhunting it has been portrayed as. I loved this analysis.

It’s a great analysis because it states what many of us believe. That was an awesome block by a rookie against the other teams lead enforcer. How many of our guys has Burfict sent to the locker room? It was just what you want from your players if you’re a head coach. But these days it’s illegal. So be it.

Exactly. He didn’t peel back and he used the corrrct shoulder when making that hit.

Also, someone else on sports radio pointed out how Burficts head snapped forward before it snapped back. Which shows that JuJu didn’t go H2H.

My feelings exactly. It is amazing how much control the prime time commentators have over the discussion. Reminds me of SBXL. Madden kept whining about legitimate penalties committed by the Seahawks. Postgame, all anyone was talking about was how the refs cost them the game. Afterwards, the former director of officiating was on NFLN and said that the only wrong call was the block below the waist after Ike's int, but people still took Madden's worthless opinion.

BTW, did anyone else notice this on the holding call that brought back the TD? During the replay they were saying that they don't see the penalty. Then, after saying that you see Watt break away from the lineman and the OL grabs his jersey and you see it stretching as he is held back from running away. It is visually blatant. One of those things that you have to call if you can see it. I don't know if Gruden and McDonough just stopped watching or didn't want to backtrack and say "oh, there it is. Now I see it", but the holding call was obvious.

Bernard was pretty clearly pulling the back of Watt’s jersey...

I absolutely cannot stand Sean McDonough! I couldn't stand him before this game. No passion, terrible voice, and looks like a smurf... Why they hired him for a national football broadcast, I swear I could do better! I'm sure there is nepotism involved with McDonough - He does not belong in an NFL broadcast booth. Now, I can see him holding a first down marker...

That was just one of many examples of horrible announcing by those two. As bad as Gruden has been in his announcing career, Monday night's brain dead performance sealed his status of being completely irrelevant.

And who was that other guy, Billy Bush's Dad?

Jason Whitlock was so correct! Aside from the horrific play that happened to Shazier, which was a result of him tackling with his head. There was nothing in that game that anybody should be complaining about. I also agree that the hit on Antonio Bryant was the most suspect play of the game, however, ten years ago that would have been celebrated as a big-time hit. All I am saying is I have seen way worse on an NFL football field. I am just so tired of people trashing football. People are such pansies, nowadays! Football is supposed to be rough, mean, violent and nasty! If you don't like it, then go watch the real housewives or something!

I agree. Whitlock makes an intelligent and compelling point.

The babbling of Gruden and that other idiot on Monday was ridiculous.

Even before JuJu applied partial payback for what Barfict did to Bell and Brown (and Ben?), those two clowns in announcer suits were trying to make Barfict into Mother Theresa with a little Ghandi thrown in.

ESPN decision, in all likelihood. I'll keep that in mind going forward!
