I hope they prove me wrong - but this team has been the weakest 9-2 possible. It's not being a pessimist or looking for the negative to point out the struggles they've had this year. There have been many bright points - but the fact this offense with these weapons isn't and hasn't been consistently putting up big points all year has been a warning sign. We NEED the offense to help out the defense tonight and for the rest of the season. We NEED our future HOF QB to put the team on his shoulders and get it done. Of course martaivis letting a TD go right through his hands or the Butler deciding to single cover AJ Green on 3rd and goal aren't helping the situation.
and they are going to destroy Matekevich tonight.
I'm hoping for the best - but sorry Tomlin, the NE game may not be the deciding factor you thought.
If I'm wrong - this will be delicious crow to eat. I'm fine with that as well!
The wrong Ben showed up tonight (so far) and with Shazier's injury the offense has to win the game; I don't see it happening, can't string together more than 1 or 2 1st downs. I'm sure the entire team is thinking more about Shazier than playing football, can't blame them.

crazy isn't it? when bad ben shows up it's like just making a first down is a struggle.
I'm happy to say that Ben made me look foolish because he was on point in the 2nd half for the most part. A couple drops (one by AB of all people) took away a bit of the great 2nd half but overall Ben played well and made some really good throws. The TD to AB was a thing of beauty, except for Iloka's hit, but the throw and catch were incredible.

lol We are down by 10, first half. We are not yet at a point where something "crazy" has to happen to win.
When I posted there were a lot more factors involved than simply a 10 point differential. The D was getting gashed like a hot knife through butter. Luckily, Cincy dropped some key passes, had 3 key Defensive players leave the game with injury...and decided to set a single game record for penalties. Sounds, crazy, doesn't it?
Yep, as I said elsewhere - happy to eat that crow. Ben did exactly what was needed. He elevated his game and carried the team to a win.
Same here. I'm not one of the guys to say "they are $uck", and "Fire them all" after a bad outing....but its still nice to be wrong every now and again lol
If we can win the next three weeks, we won’t need to run the table...
Victories against Bmore, the Pats**, and the Texans will make week 17 against the Browns a meaningless game...
If we could do that, I might give Josh Donna some significant live snaps...
The win certainly gives us some flexibility. The Pats game is an obvious "Must win". 3 out of our 4 remaining games are at home. The Pats have the Dolphins, Bills, and Jets... so we'd need some serious help (to remain the number 1 seed) if we lose to NE.... and IF that were to happen, we'd have to run the table with the Texans, Ravens, and Browns (which is very possible). Tomlin was right in that it all comes down to the NE game in 2 weeks.

Realistically, the Pats game just got much harder with no Shazier but never say never.
Tomlin usually is right and has a good sense of the team and the season. When he made the Pats comment last week he was really just stating the obvious.
"My team, may they always be right, but right or wrong...MY TEAM!"
