OT: Manning is a class act. Kind of sad to see him go out that way.

Eli Manning benched today, Geno Smith (?) and some rookie QB who's never thrown a ball will split the QB duty. Wow.

I'll always like Manning, if for nothing else taking down the **s and making sure that otherwise perfect season will forever be known as "18-Doh!" (and thank you David Tyree also!).

Rumor is Manning might hook back up with Coughlin in Jax, and replace Bortles. I won't like Manning as much if that happens, especially this year ...

Oh, and I wonder what Ben thinks about all this ...

We got our "6-PACK" - time to work on a CASE!

i've always liked and had respect for the giants.

until now. that was really crappy, especially with a 2 win season. they aren't going anywhere, show some class to the guy who got you two lombardi's - and over the pats no less..

I don't get it. I could see if they had a rookie they wanted to groom but it's Geno Smith.

First the Bills bench their starter so the backup can throw 5 picks and now the Giants bench Eli for Geno. I expect Tebow will play for the Jets before the season is over.

If he's available next year and Ben retires...

I mean, I realize he'll be 37, but at least he's had success against the Pats**!!

They are eliminated from playoff contention and are currently in line for a top 3 pick in the draft, with several QB prospected expected to come off the board early this April.

So I guess that I could possibly understand the reasoning if they wanted to use the last 5 games to see what they have in rookie QB Davis Webb before deciding whether or not to take another QB with that upcoming top draft pick.

But benching Eli for Geno Freaking Smith makes absolutely zero sense.

Ben McAdoo is in way over his head.

I think the Giants totally clean house of their coach & GM this offseason.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

I like Eli and totally respect his professionalism, toughness, and how he finds a way to rise to the occasion in the biggest games. However, he hasn't been looking too good of late and I think the team was just trying to "save face" with him, so to speak! The Giants biggest gaffe was getting rid of Coughlin. He fit that team like a hand in glove.... And where did they find this Ben McAdoo? He looks like some trailer park, psycho or something.

The Giants failed Eli at this stage of his career.

For real though he looks like white trash lmao. I cant stand his little mustache and he just looks like a bum. I obviously know very little about him but the eye test has me thinking he sucks.

Gino likely gets a game or two at most then Davis Webb should get a look. Not sure why Gino gets 1 or 2 we kind of know what he's got or don't got even though he was a stud in college he is a back up at this level imho. It likely would have been better to give Webb the last 2 as a test run as it ain't a popular decision. What do the Giants get out of starting Gino for a pair of games? I have never been a Eli fan. He did play this with class when he said he would help the new starter. Great guy but not a great qb.

I don't think it was really McAdoo's decision. But yeah, he looks lost.

Eli is mostly a class act but it wasn't so classy when he refused to play for the team that originally drafted him.

The Giants paid him well for his services. I don't see the benching as some huge disrespect during a 2-9 season. They may be extending his career if he goes elsewhere.

Plenty of franchise QB's were shown the door near the end. Maybe not in the same way but Montana, Favre and Peyton all left their original teams and played elsewhere.

Benching Eli to try out Webb makes sense if drafting a QB is likely next year.

Doing it to give Geno snaps makes no sense.

It's pretty obvious to me the Giants want to tank the season to grab one of the top QBs in this draft class.

If they loose there last 5 games there won't be anyone left that's with them now that will be around for the next draft class.

they were doing that WITH Eli...lol

but yeah, this is how you do it. No need to draft a QB to wait for 4 years. Just tank one year and hope it pans out.
