coach speak is used for positives and negatives as well. It's just coach speak. One shouldn't get too high or too low regardless of what Tomlin says. A players job is to show up every week and do what is asked.
A coach does not say something negative to the press about a specific player unless he is trying to convey a serious message. He means it.

That's entirely different than a compliment after a 2 TD game. What the hell is he SUPPOSED to say? Have you ever heard a coach say, "Well he had two TDs but still sucks."?

"Starters" almost always get the most snaps, which is indicative of who the coaching staff feels is the better player. So, yes, who is the starter matters.

The difference being, of course, I'm not a coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers. I can be honest. I don't need "coach speak."

wrong, it depends on how the game plays out. We go run heavy McDonald isn't seeing the field that often. If we go pass happy it may flip. You never know. We have a ton of sun packages for TE's and Haley likes to use multiple TE's in some sets.

who starts has no bearing on snap count for our TE's.

                    Here is the quote:
It just shows that Jesse has been able to fend off the competition..
If the better TEs getting injured means Jesse fended off Green and Vance, then the same must hold true for Coty.

I agree that my comment makes no sense, but only because I purposely based it on YOUR logic. lol

which has been my point all along. You can't hold Tomlin to his words when it fits your agenda and then shrug when it doesn't.

no, you said they keep trying to replace Jesse. There is room for more than one TE in this offense. The fact he is still on the team means he is better than you suggest.

This is boring me. You can argue as much as you want but Jesse is playing next week.

                        Deal with it.

But you don't want our TEs catching passes on the drives. Just TDs. You know. "Silent but deadly." lol

You may want to get your story straight.

Yeah, replace AS STARTER. Are you really this thick naturally or working at it?

But one set of words came with specific action, the trade for another TE who would replace Jesse as the starting TE.

The other (the compliment) came but he STILL replaced Jesse as the starting TE.

It's obvious which was the serious statement and which was "coach speak."
