What happened to our pass rush?

Lions were #26 in ypg coming in (thanks for that stat, pittpete), but Stafford pretty much had his way with us, maybe more than 400 yards?

I kept yelling at the tv for us to get pressure on him, but with only a few exceptions, it seemed like we couldn't even hurry him.

    What happened to our rush?

(Would Deebo have made a difference?)

We got our "6-PACK" - time to work on a CASE!

No pressure and zone defense. I don't get it.

Thankfully, they never gave up a TD. Some amazing redzone defense. But it was like a hot knife going through butter the way the Lions went up and down the field.

Don't know what you watched but I saw lots of pressure even if few sacks. You have to take onto account that Stafford is a very athletic QB and the lions had a bye week to fix protection issues

Stafford has a big arm, but "athletic" is the last word I would use to describe him. I was shocked that dude was able to run for 11 yards on a 3rd and 10. Seems to have a body composition similar to Ben, albeit 5 or 6 years younger.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Haden looked like garbage in zone. I didn’t think pressure was the problem. Stafford moves around to avoid pressure a few times. The real problem was Detroit WR’s were wide open.

I hope we dont run that defense against the Pats*

Home game in prime time...coming off a bye week (Stafford came into the game 6-2 after bye weeks; Last night was the first game after a bye that Jim Caldwell lost in Detroit)...and a bad loss the week before...true franchise QB...

The only thing that surprised me about their performance was their ineffectiveness in the red zone...Tomlin preaches "situational football"...well, despite 400+ passing yards, the Steelers dominated that situation...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

Yea, it was a change in scheme. Lots of zone and stafford was on point for many throws. The ending was deceiving though. You had Golden and whoever replaced Davis in the backfield. Not a good combo. Plus Watt was manhandled by mihalik all night.
No complaints here. Hard fought away game win.

didnt the lions also have a couple oline back ups playing?
deebo should have been rotated in last night at least 50% of the time.
watt's injury must have had him slowed down. he was non existent.

Would like to see the stats. But I remember Stafford having plenty of time to throw, more than I remember him being hurried.

It is inexplicable to me that Deebo didn't get any reps against Mihalik, a 6'9" cast off from the Steelers. I would have much rather seen him getting reps than Chickillo and Moats.

                      yup, terrible coaching.
you cant tell me that harrison hasnt worked hard enough to deseve some reps AND that he could be any less effetive than the 4 that got to play

Davis only missed one or two plays.

agreed. decent amount of pressure. too much zone. it's like butler doesn't believe that his CBs can cover - agreed with some folks on the Pats*** you zone them up and we're gonna get spanked. Gotta continue with the man coverage - our guys are just better at it.

Perhaps things might have looked better if 1 step late Mitchell was actually 1 step earlier on a few plays.
I really don't understand why Harrison didnt get a series or two.
Maybe something happened during the week that pissed off the coaches.
