One thing that cracks me up about fans is that they believe the HC is responsible for every aspect of the team. Tomlin probably doesn't have the final say on personnel decisions.
In an ideal world every team would have a franchise QB in waiting behind the franchise QB. We all know that generally isn't the reality of life in the NFL.Comment

I listened to the press conference. It was a throw away line with 50 mics in his face. Reporters ask a ton of repetitive and stupid questions. The guy's coming off possibly the worst game of his career, of course he might not feel great about it.
I'm certainly worried but I think next week against a quality team (that smells blood in the water) will tell us more about his mindset. He rebounds from this debacle and we have ourselves a season to watch!sigpicComment

The problem is, he's come off of sub par performances all year...and has yet to rebound. Is this game supposed to be like a drug addict not rebounding until he/she hits "Rock bottom"..? If so, you may be on to something.I listened to the press conference. It was a throw away line with 50 mics in his face. Reporters ask a ton of repetitive and stupid questions. I think they need to stay the course here, with how Ben is being managed. SB isn't won in September or October. Yes, we want to win these games. But making Ben practice all week, I think would be a mistake in the grand scheme. Logic says that Ben will slowly continue to round into form as the season goes along, as long as he realizes this process. You could force Ben to practice more and wear himself out by January, or you could continue to manage him with the hope of him being ready when it really matters.I wasn't hired for my disposition.Comment

Terry Bradshaw played 14 seasons then retired at the age of 35. Looks like history is about to repeat itself.Obviously the standard is the standard.Comment

I see the logic here and would be inclined to agree...given the scenario we are in with Ben's backups. I disagree with the "SB's not being won in Sept/Oct". I've said all along, we've gotta have HF advantage to have a shot at the SB. Going in as a 5 or 6 seed pretty much guarantees an early exit in the post season.I think they need to stay the course here, with how Ben is being managed. SB isn't won in September or October. I see no passion or precision in how Ben is playing this season. The tentative behavior appears to be telegraphed to opposing D's. If he doesn't spend time practicing and working on the weaknesses of his game, he can at least spend it in the film room. I am waiting for the gunslinger of old that used to run a scary no huddle that had half the talent on both the front line and the skill positions. That dude is in hibernation or just flat out gone.Comment
