I doubt it would. A narrative was created his first season here and they see whatever fits the narrative and ignore what does not.

For example, Davis was terrible on the screen TD. As Ray Fit said today, it looked like he never played football before.

But no one is talking about THAT. Just Mitchell.

Yup. Mitchell is the board’s chosen whipping boy...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

I didn't see Mitchell do anything bad or great in last nights game, not sure why people continue to beat him up. Our problems where clearly with the CB's getting caught out of position. Your also right on the screen pass, Davis made a mistake and so did Shazier.

You realize that this thread is weeks old and was only bumped due to the news that he won the appeal of the fine from the KC game, right?
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Mike Mitchell, “I was very frustrated with Alex [Smith] and people in the media,” Mitchell told Tafoya. “Matt Hasselbeck, we’re gonna have words next time we’re on [Monday Night Football]. You don’t know me. And you call me a repeat offender? Two personal fouls over the past three years.”

So... should we expect some fireworks this coming Monday night? I'd love to see Mitchell tell Hasselbeck to go have coitus with himself!

Mike Mitchell is not the boards chosen whipping boy or man.
Mike Mitchell has 0 INT's as our free safety.
Mike Mitchell has missed more tackles than i care to count.
I don't blame him for anything, i just don't think he's anything more than an average safety.

I agree about one thing: For us, he has been an average safety...

But, he is most definitely the chosen whipping boy...

I don't think anyone has described Mike Mitchell as anything other than an average safety. He is definitely the whipping boy on this forum, I don't know how anyone can deny that. He has been criticized for everything, in the past he was even criticized on this forum for a passing touchdown in which he wasn't even the game.

There is nothing wrong with being an "average" safety. Great ones cost a ton more than we are paying him and you cannot play for great players at every position.

That is why drafting and undrafted free agents are so important. Villy is no better than an "average" left tackle. His value is in that we have paid him so little and are continuing to underpay him relative to the market. Hilton makes mere pennies. Paying so little for great production is where you win the championships. It saves the money for the ABs and Bens.
