    Jag Pass Defense Very Good

Seems this is a game prime for LB:

The Jacksonville Jaguars Have A Weird Defense — On Paper

by CHASE STUART on OCTOBER 4, 2017

The Jacksonville defense ranks 32nd in rushing yards allowed and rushing yards per carry allowed, making it the worst rushing defense in the league by either measure. Some of this is the result of the small sample size of a four-week season: Bilal Powell had a 75-yard fluke touchdown run on Sunday against the Jaguars, and backup Elijah McGuirehad a 69-yard run a couple hours later that, while not fluky is probably not going to happen every four games.
But that’s not what’s weird about the Jaguars defense. What’s weird is that opposite the worst rushing defense in the league is the stingiest pass defense , in terms of both yards (meaningless) and ANY/A (very meaningful). The Jaguars lead the league in sacks, with 18, while ranking 3rd in passer rating (which doesn’t include sacks). So this is a really strong pass defense, at least through four games.

In theory — more on this in a minute — a team shouldn’t be really good at pass defense and really bad at rush defense, absent some extreme roster composition. And withCalais Campbell ,Yannick Ngakoue Malik Jackson ,Paul Posluszny ,Myles Jack andTelvin Smith, the Jaguars front seven has more than enough talent to turn this thing around. If I had to guess, the rush defense will improvement significantly, while the pass defense will still play like a top-10 unit the rest of the way. In other words, this should be a really good defense, not just a really great pass defense.

I actually see this as potentially a favorable situation for PIT. I don't know their scheme, but if they play a man-to-man scheme and think too highly of their Corners being able to hold up vs. AB and MB, I can see it going in the same way it did when the aforementioned sliced and diced Talib and Chris Harris a couple years back. If they look at Martavis as just another complementary guy, he will eat whoever they put on him up.
I wasn't hired for my disposition.

Potential breakout game for JuJu. If they focus on AB and MB, JuJu could have a big day.

Exactly why wouldn't the Jags follow the same defensive scheme used by previous teams this season? It's worked fine in limiting Roethlisberger's big plays. It's a copycat league... Two high safeties in zone and force the QB out of his comfort zone.

Hoping this is the game that Roethlisberger figures it out and goes with a zillion crossing patterns leading to many many after the catch yards.

The question that you must ask yourself, of course, is if you really want to go to the playoffs with this poopy quarterback.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Jags rank dead last in rushing defense. Might be the reason their defense passing stats are so good.

Run it down their throats until they stop it.
