    Young defense getting another asset

This defense has young players contributing every game.

Just read that Sutton is on track to be back after Week #8. Another potential asset to strengthen the defense for the second half on the season run

Got to love how Butler has rebuilt this defense in just a couple of seasons

not sure i would give the credit to butler, but i get your agenda

its more a factor of spending higher picks on defense the last 3-4 years and hitting on them

shazier, tuitt, davis, burns, dupree, watt, hargrave

Add Hilton to that mix of young talent. All along, I just considered him a camp sensation like Redman, or Stefan Logan. But he really is showing a nose for the ball and a real knack for timing blitzes.
I wasn't hired for my disposition.

to not see this defense improve after spending all those high picks on them would be a travesty

Agree. The difference is they were put on the field early and their athleticism is making a difference. No multi-year internships anymore

we had no choice but to play them since we kept players too long for one last run.

Excited about the possibility of getting Sutton on the field, but doggone it - that Carl Lawson sure is looking good! I think we are going to be haunted by that non-choice. Afterall - he could have been had in the 4th round. But, carry on!!

Well everyone in front of them sucked so.. they had to start. It's not like they had James Harrison in his prime in front of them.

Some people complain that we didn't use our first or second round picks on a corner, and others would have preferred for us to not even use our 3rd round pick on a corner, taking another pass rusher instead.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

The point is they are being trusted and performing.

Previously we would have kept a guy whose performance was noticeably declining on the field and not getting reps for the young guys. Just saying we are doing it right now.

Such as? I can't think of a single example of a guy who was kept on the side who was better than the guy in front of him. Maybe Jason Gildon?

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

Really!!!! Young guys are playing a performing. Not sure how you can say otherwise. Burns, Davis and Hargrave last year. Watt and Hilton so far this year. All given an opportunity and contributing in their first year

All guys who didn't have a player in front of them that was clearly better.
Would you have played Sharmarko Thomas over Troy?
How about Jarvis Jones over James Harrison?
                              Perhaps Vince Williams over Timmons..
I can't think of a single instance where your point stands
