In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

Haha nice one capt. I agree bad bad tackling. But if I told you this defense could hold the bears to 17 points in regulation you would say a good enough day and say it was a win. I am not happy at all with the defense. But the offense needs to do much better. I would say the defense has been average and good enough to win all 3 games. But this offense has me jacked. No reason to not score 21+ points a game. But Ben and Haley have been bad along with most on offense. Only AB, Decastro, Gilbert (till he got hurt) have came to play. JuJu looks ok. But the rest are killing me. I hope this game was a wake up for many. I don't care what happen to the ravens this past game. I guarantee they come to play this week against the Steelers.

Exactly. holding any team in today's NFL to 17 points is a pretty solid performance. I am honestly surprised that more members on here aren't railing against the offense.

“I think it’s taking what the defense gives me,” Roethlisberger said. “Sometimes I find myself almost zoning on A.B. too much because we’ve got such a great relationship and he’s so good. And I need to take what the defense gives us. Sometimes there’s guys that might be open that I kind of quickly go to A.B. I need to reel myself back in and just take what defense gives us. Give us the best play possible, not just the best guy possible.”
Says pretty much what we are all witnessing. Now, will it change??

Nice to see Ben is aware of this tendency hope he works on this.
In his defense, when the other guys are dropping passes and killing drives, its kind of hard not to go to a guy you trust to catch the ball.

Yes, can anyone else be counted on to hold on to the ball besides AB?

and how did this trust get established? Numerous reps in practice. If Roethlisberger doesn't participate (didn't yesterday) how are they going to get better? (Allen Iverson anyone?)

Apparently just lip service from Roethlisberger on changing his approach:

                      Jeremy FowlerESPN Staff Writer

Steelers worked on the deep ball early in Wednesday's practice - Eli Rogers (top), Justin Hunter go over the shoulder.
I know I've been dogging the QB lately in my posts... gonna be positive through the rest of the weekend anyway.

                          Gentlemen...your thoughts?

Rookie WR JuJu Smith-Schuster has passed Eli Rogers on the depth chart as the Steelers' primary slot receiver.

Smith-Schuster out-snapped Rogers 38-37 in Week 2 and then took over completely last week with a 51-21 advantage. Rogers wasn't even targeted in the Week 3 loss to the Bears, while JuJu saw six and had the team's longest catch. According to ESPN Steelers reporter Jeremy Fowler, Pittsburgh will also activate Justin Hunter this week. Rogers may be completely falling out of favor.

Ben has too much control over this offense to blame coaching.

Ben tends to talk about how he could gain a yard on a QB sneak or we shoulda did this that and a third after a loss but he has the ability to do what the hell he wants without getting benched. If you think we should call a QB sneak just call it and deal with Haley on the sideline.

I didn't think it would happen this soon but I think it's mostly due to Ju-Ju's ability as a blocker right now.

Juju has the potential to be another Hines Ward type out there.

On the other hand, Eli Rogers is more of a Markus Wheaton type.

If the kid is ready, then don't hesitate to play him. No problem here.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.
