I'm a soccer guy so that's always an option for me, I know most of America can't get into watching soccer because they don't understand the nuance of the game, but since our kids play and have taught me how to watch soccer and what to look for it's appealing to me now. Again, soccer, very few commercials and when there are commercials the game doesn't stop, the viewers just miss that part of the game. They cater to the people in the stands and not the people sitting at home.

I'm to the point that unless its a Steeler game I don't watch, Thursday night, Monday night, Sunday night, Christmas Day, Thanksgiving day (I know its been there a long time) I don't watch unless the Steelers are playing. Too much football on too many days of the week and holidays, go back to Sunday afternoon and Monday night. I think it would get fans excited for Sunday again, now, you only have to wait two and half days before there's another game.

Oh yea, good college lacrosse is awesome as well, can't watch professional lacrosse, but D1 top 20 college lacrosse is good.

    My two cents,

I will admit to watching College Women's Volleyball for obvious reasons.

    sorry but I'm not sorry.

For me, the best thing the NFL could do to spruce up the game is to eliminate the challenges and using instant replay to overturn plays. Just let the call be the call and move on, NFL referees just like their counterparts in MLB get it right when they aren't looking over their shoulder because of replay, make the call, take the heat and move on. When did it become so damned important to get every call right? Even then, there are still calls that are wrong, Troy Polamalu's interception against the colts for instance.

They might get more downfield passes if they let the CBs and safeties play football a little bit as well, instead of flagging for every little touch, grab, yank or hand fighting that goes on.

the Troy call and other questionable replay decisions also hurt the league.

Why wait all that time just to see them effe it up because they need the ratings or to cover the spread?

it's always been that way for people who felt oppressed saw it as an opportunity to get the most viewership, and therefore the most support. Whether it was the black power fist at the Olympics, or Muhammad Ali or - heck, the entire 60's were athletes supporting/fighting for a cause.

It's amusing to me that today as people whine about how sensitive the youth are, then, get sensitive to a person trying to bring attention to a cause he believes in.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't have chosen Old Glory and the anthem, but... will admit that as a black male who is a normal, law-abiding citizen, I'm as worried about police encounters as any other encounter in my life... dead serious. Have been for many years (long before Kaep's thing).

It's unfortunate that the POINT of it all is lost in what he chose to target - he needs a marketing team - lol
