    Negative Comments About the Steelers

I'm not immune to making negative comments but I do try to be fair. Perhaps the biggest reason some fans are less than thrilled so far are the very lofty expectations regarding the high priced Steelers offense.

Note that the Steelers cap hit for the offense is #1 in the entire NFL at a hair under $96M. That's over 57% of the team total cap. On the other hand, the unit you could say is performing better (defense) has a cap hit that is #27 in the NFL.

Roethlisberger has not been sharp so far. The OL has been average for the most part. They will get better but it needs to happen quickly as divisional games are looming. When talking about the talent, we hear comments about 'one of the best OL in the NFL', and WR group is one of the most dangerous of any team. And yet they haven't come close to their goal of 30 pts/gm.
It could just be matter of Haley (and Roethlisberger) figuring out how all the new pieces need to fit together. A 30% something 3rd down conversion rate won't get this team very far. If the Steelers can avoid slip ups against inferior teams this season, they should be in good shape at season's end.

The defense has faced a rookie QB and a journeyman backup QB. I expect the defense to perform better than the offense for most of the season until we play the best offenses.

Im withholding judgment until we play the Pats and Ravens.

Why do you mention the Pats and the Ravens. So I guess judgements should withheld on the Pats cause they beat New Orleans who are terrible. But the Vikings beat New Orleans and we beat the Vikings so aren't we are at least as good as the Patriots. Then again, the Ravens beat two 0-2 teams so why are they the standard?

hey, those two 0-2 teams are awesome. baltimore had to play their best games ever to beat them.

Because those will be the two toughest opponents we will face. I don't care what the ravens are bringing to the table personnel wise, they bring their A-game when they play us because those games, in a sense, are their superbowls. They love to beat us more than we like whooping up on them. We all know the history we have against N.E. I believe our lack of success against Tom Brady has become psychological. I believe we have the talent to beat them however our team's psychological inferiority complex is the biggest obstacle to overcome.

There's a couple teams I'm worried about. Kansas City looks real strong. Rogers is still a great qb in GB. The Ravens have a qb who has won the super bowl and of course the *'s are always tough for us. SO 4/5 of those games will be played against former NFL MVP's and Super Bowl winners. Of course those are the games that will show you exactly who you are.

Are they the toughest? Really? The Pats got hammered by a good play off caliber team and then beat a terrible team with one of the worst defenses in the league. The Ravens beat two teams who are 0-2 and have scored a total of 37 points through four combined games. Let me help with the math that is 9.25 points per game. Yet the Ravens are somehow a team to worry about?????

Yet when we beat a team with one of the better defenses in the NFL by double digits we are lacking. Strange logic. The psychological inferiority complex seems to be more on the part of some fans who only see the glass half empty and anticipate disappointment. Maybe they should find a more mentally healthy past time than watching football.

Ravens and Pats always play us tough..

I don't care what the records of these teams are or who they beat or lost to because none of that matters when we play them.

I will say this - those are the two teams I fear the most, only because they have no fear when they play our team. It seems the ravens and pats know exactly where to hit us. In fact, the ravens have pretty much built their entire team/organization around stopping the Steelers.

that's usually how the NFL works unless you are in the AFCEast. That's the only division where the other teams build their teams to lose to the Pats every year.

The defense.is loaded with high round draft picks in their rookie deals.
As we just saw with tuiit, we can expect a few more to get paid in the next couple years balacing those out that percentage.
