The new threads started on game day of double digit victory:

    Complaining about Pouncey's PFF ranking.

    Whining about Villenueva's heat-related issues.

Bitching about Martavis Bryant dancing after scoring a TD.

    Did anything good happen today?
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Dupree was back, and looked good. Hilton to me was all over the place and looked good. Ben was better this week...no picks, a couple of TD's..but overall the offense does need to improve. But there was some good things...other then the W which is always important.

The exact reason I don't visit here very often. This place is the gloomiest on earth. 😂

I love our pass rush, we are going to be tough to score on.

Ditto on that pressure we were steady there today and often we had more then 1 guy applying pressure.

To the "Glass half empty" clowns there is always going to be a negative narrative.

Two games where we have not been our best and we are 2-0. IMO there are many more positives than negatives:

              Rookies are contributing early
Defense without one of the best DEs in the NFL is stout
Offense is getting better even with Ben being off for two weeks and forcing the ball to AB way too much
"My team, may they always be right, but right or wrong...MY TEAM!"

Feel free to start threads celebrating the team. I tend to focus on constructive criticism. You are welcome to ignore anything I post, if you find it gloomy or pessimistic.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

In truth my post was started at the beginning of the game after I caught the article online. Timing was unfortunate but doesn't change the fact that the Steelers OL is ranked far above average, except for Pouncey.

                    Positives from today;
fewer penalties, MB emerging, Matakevich is a ST demon second week in a row, Haden & Burns quieted some talented receivers for the most part. Defense neutralized Cook other than one long run, Heyward is in mid-season form.... I shudder to think what a full game of Heyward & Tuitt would do to an offense.

Can't accuratly grade the defense because Bradford wasn't there. So I don't think we should comment one way our the other about the defense. We won as a team so we move on to Chicago.

There were many positives to build upon.

                        1. Cam Heyward looks to be our most dominant defender.

                        2. Martavis Bryant seems to be developing back into form. It's clear he's got another gear that other WRs can only dream of. The sky is the limit for this kid. As he gets his timing down with our QB, he's going to command a double team to slow him down which will open up many possibilities for this O.

                        3. Shazier looks to be in midseason form with his speed.

                        4. Other than a small handful of negative plays, the D front 7 looks to be able to stop the run and generate pressure. Looking forward to where this team can get deeper in the season.

                        5. We seem to have more depth than we've had in the past. Random guys are contributing all over the place. On ST. On D. On O. In the recent past, there's been a huge drop off when players got hurt. Not so much this season.

                        6. We're 2-0. We've got a lot of areas to develop and we typically do as a season progresses. Feels like we're at a better starting point to start the year versus previous seasons.

See, I take one Sunday off and what happens... the Gloomsayers take over!

We never play "well" in September. By that I mean up to some folks' expectations. We are banking W's right now and we're still not firing on all cylinders. Brick by brick citizens!
We're just an incomplete body of work, but we're defending every blade of grass (cuz it's got to last all season). Gloomsayers need to VARSITY up and enjoy the W's. We can't blow everyone out every week, we're only gonna get better!

Happy we're at 2-0 but would really, really like to see the offense perform far more consistently. I get that it'll take time for everyone to get their timing on the same page. But even Ben looks off. Looked like he was "aiming" a few passes yesterday that sailed high. And this was at home where he's normally his best. Hope he finds his groove soon.

There's talent all over the offense. We're as stacked as I can ever remember. We've been lucky to cut our teeth on below average teams to this point. And I put the Vikings below average because they didn't have Bradford.

I think sometimes Ben has so many weapons he doesn't know where to go with the football...lol.

Honestly, this is the same Ben as every other year. Some games he is on, sometimes not so much. Thank goodness the defense is stepping up.
