Mean Joe Greene was selected 2nd overall in MMQB's All-Time NFL Draft

Peter King's MMQB website organized a 12 team, 26 round draft including every player in NFL history. Each GM was trying to create the best possible starting 11 on offense, starting 11 on defense, plus a kicker, punter, head coach, and wild card player of your choosing. The results are listed here:

    https://si.com/specials/mmqb-nfl-all-time-draft/draft-results.html

Notable Steeler Players (with round and overall pick number):

    1.2 DT Joe Greene
    3.33 LB Jack Lambert
    4.39 LB Jack Ham
    5.52 QB Terry Bradshaw
    5.54 CB Rod Woodson
    7.74 CB Mel Blount
    9.97 C Dermontti Dawson
    11.127 C Mike Webster
    11.129 S Troy Polamalu
    13.145 CB Jack Butler
    14.161 RB John Henry Johnson
    15.177 LB Kevin Greene
    17.198 S Donnie Shell
    18.205 G Alan Faneca
    19.225 RB Franco Harris
    20.236 DT Ernie Stautner
    21.252 WR John Stallworth
    22.264 K Gary Anderson
    26.304 HC Chuck Noll
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

In what world does Donnie shell go 2 rounds before Franco Harris and 3 before John Stallworth?

In a world where SOMEONE remembers his greatness despite his HOF snub.
Dude had more picks than LAKE AND TROY COMBINED......and he is more renown for his run defense than his pass defense.

More 1st team All Pros than Franco and Stallworth COMBINED.

He retired with the NFL RECORD for picks by a SS.

You can make a case for any of these three being better than the others, but when for ONCE someone gives Shell the love he deserves, I'm all for it.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

      TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

Round 11 for the best safety to ever play the game and round 5 for one of the most dynamic DBs? Pfft.
        Trolls are people too.

When you have access to choose any player in the history of the game, there are an awful lot of RB's and WR's to choose from.

Numbers 9, 10, 11 and 12 on the all-time receptions list—Anquan Boldin, Reggie Wayne, Andre Johnson, Steve Smith—were not drafted.

Three of the top eight rushing leaders in history—Curtis Martin (fourth), Jerome Bettis (sixth), Frank Gore (eighth)—were not drafted.

            Adrian Peterson was not drafted.

            Thurman Thomas was not drafted.

Top notch safeties are much more rare than top notch RB's and WR's.

            Supply and demand, brother.
