Artie Burns arrested for suspended driver's license

Just heard this on Sirius NFL radio. Luckily, it doesn't sound like there are any other more serious charges like DUI or something like that.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Steelers’ Artie Burns arrested for driving on suspended license

Posted by Michael David Smith on June 30, 2017, 9:35 AM EDT

Steelers cornerback Artie Burns has been arrested in Miami Beach for driving on a suspended license.

Burns was booked overnight into jail, according to the Miami Herald.

Andy Slater of WINZ reported that Burns failed to pay $1,012.20 in traffic tickets for driving violations including going 130 mph in a 60 mph zone. Burns also failed to show for a court date.

Burns grew up in Miami and played his college football for the Miami Hurricanes. He was the Steelers’ first-round draft pick last year and played in all 16 games as a rookie, with nine starts.

Yea, I imagine the haters will be all over this, but considering how many out there who drive without a license. Who cares. No real legal drama, unless there is more to it. We will have to wait to see.

I essentially agree. I will say that maybe it indicates a certain level ignorance or arrogance, but nothing out of line for a typical male in his early 20's. Plenty of evidence out there to suggest this is on the very low side of the idiotic behavior spectrum for that demographic.

Glad to see that he got a night in the slammer too. A nice little taste of what it's like to have your freedom taken away, with no real lasting consequences.

Hopefully, he will learn from this. Seriously though - I do cringe when I hear this guy give an interview... He does not sound too bright. But hey - this is football! Fortunately, he makes a great living keeping guys from catching passes and don't have to worry about giving speeches! For every Josh Dobbs, you have an Artie Burns. It all works together for the good! Kick some behind come September and we will forget we ever saw this.

I'll be in the monority and express concern and hope this doesn't show a pattern of immature behavior.

I was driving on a suspended license for not turning in my tags after I dropped insurance from a vehicle. I wasn't aware of it until I bought a new car and couldn't get my tags from the DMV. Things happen....

Yeah, I can see something like that happening. But "overlooking" more than a grand in unpaid traffic tickets and also failing to appear in court after more than doubling the posted speed limit doesn't exactly qualify as a run of the mill "things happen" scenario.

Ruth, that's immaturity but this can be a teaching moment for Tomlin and company

Gotta be frustrating to the FO.

Is it "illegal" to put a different kind of performance clause in the contracts, like "No police activity, no NFL drug violations gets you an extra $1 million"?

Pretty sure the FO is relieved when it's a story like this.
