When we win it all this year....

...will that be motivation for Ben to retire or will he want one more to match Bradshaw?

Got to say IMO he will want to be at top of the Steelers' history tied with Bradshaw instead of being one short

I'd say he will take a look at the team at round him starting at the OLINE.

as i've said before, I think he retires when his health simply won't allow him to play. I think his shenanigans when young will haunt him after he leaves the game and there will be no tv gig or analyst job waiting for him. he'll talk about retiring, because that's what he does - but when it's time to crap or get off the pot, he'll stick it out. Just my view from the cheap seats but ben leaves the game based on someone else's decision, not his own. besides, IF (and a big IF) the defense makes strides this year and the offense can actually put all our weapons on the field - the Steelers have done a very nice job of putting a young group of talent around him for one last 2-4 year run.

I'd almost buy into this...if it weren't for guys like Randy Moss.

Did Moss ever have off field drama with women? Dude was just an azz to reporters as far as I remember.

My response to the " I think his shenanigans when young will haunt him after he leaves the game" comment..

In looking at Moss... the guy had a troubled past, and overcame the rep to be a successful commentator. Unlike Ben, the dude was convicted, and did jail time.

Moss ran his car into a lady cop - repeatedly, intentionally, at low speed. I lived in MN at the time, was big news locally, don't know if it made the national news. MN-ites are in general pretty low-key people, but just about everyone I knew thought of him as trash ... even those who liked the Vikes (which was just about everyone with a pulse).

I could see if Moss made the news like Mixon on college.

Ben's actions were in the NFL and he has a nickname because of it. Most people have no idea what Moss did in college or HS but everyone knows about what Ben was accused of in the NFL.

I guess we could turn this conversation into a "Innocent until proven guilty" type of thing with Ben..
Either way...entirely too much time has been spent on the comparison.
