    Interesting Draft Insights from Dulac

He's usually pretty plugged in. I believe he called the Burns pick early on twitter last year. He also had some interesting insights both during and after the draft this year:

    - Jabrill Peppers was their primary target, and they also liked Tre'Davious White
    - They were going to take Michael Roberts, TE, Toledo in the 4th
    - They also had some interest in Obi (unclear when)
    - Tomlin really liked the hybrid players (like Honey Badger)
    - He personally called this the worst second half of the draft since 2004, when Steelers took Bo Lacy, Matt Kranchick, Drew Caylor and Eric Taylor. I think that was before the last pick.
    - Moreau had another medical issue beyond the torn pec

there was so much talk about peppers being used as Polamalu, that one was an easy one. i thought Cleveland's two 20-something picks were direct impact to the Steelers

I totally agree. IMO the Stains clearly targeted players linked to the Steelers in the twenties.

Cincy did that in the first round last year with William Jackson III.

Baltimore did that in the second round the year before that with Maxx Williams.

Hopefully Peppers and Njoku end up having as little an impact for them as WJ3 and Maxx have had so far.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Thats a stupid way to draft since its mere speculation.

I had this discussion with a friend of mine and he told me I was losing it but both those teams target us every year; always trying to stick it to us but they screw themselves in the process.

The writer is full of it. He has no idea what the Steelers were thinking. Tomlin, who was in contact with TE Scott Orndoff on Friday and Saturday reiterated that the team had no intention on selecting a TE in this draft...but wanted Orndoff to know that they wanted him as a undrafted free agent. So where Dulac got his Info...I don't know. I DO know however he is clueless and has ZERO Steeler sources.

Dulac knows more than you think, if you follow him he said for about a month that the Steelers would draft

                CB
                WR
                RB
QB IN THE FIRST 5 ROUNDS.

I like Dulac, and being a beat writer for years, he knows the ins and outs of the team, to the point I think they trust him in the inner circle.

                    The bigger question was...
Did the Cowboys and Packers know what the Steelers wanted in the 2nd round or were they reading this forum??

I'm sure that they look at the needs of other teams, just as I'd hope the Steelers would be aware that those teams needed pass rushers and corners.

I'm glad they got Watt instead. Wouldn't have minded Peppers in round 2, though.
