He'll be running more "Vert" type of routes.. working the seam. I'm thinking he's going to be doing what we were hoping L.Green was going to do. Rogers is more of a "Drag"... "Speed out" type. #1 and #2 stretch vertical and clear the underneath for Rogers.

unfortunately year after year our WR fails to live up to the hype.

I actually think our running game is our strength and we added another RB too.

If they all played consistently... like we had seen at times (in spurts). Of course injuries have something to do with that. I'd call the running game a strength as well... barring injuries.

Chain mover. I think with Bryant Juju is going to feast underneath.

with AB and MB... Rogers (and Ayers for that matter) would "Feast" on underneath as well.

Coates is obviously someone who is going to stretch the field for those underneath routes also. I hope he has those fingers healed up, and is ready to contribute.

I don't think anyone's been on board with the ILB corp being solid.. especially since the departure of Timmons.
I didn't think WR was a strength going into the draft...

I DID think that WR was a strength going into the playoffs...and I was proven oh so wrong...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

Coats never recovered from the broken fingers.. MB was suspended.. Rogers had a few drops (I expect that out of a first year guy). DHB was not targeted... which baffles me (what a waste of talent!). Im not ready to throw the towel in on any of those guys just yet.

We have 12 WR's on the roster right now ad we will probably keep 5, my guess is it will be:

                  Brown
                  MB
                  Schuster-Smith
                  Rodgers
                  Coates

Ben is able to lead this team up and down the field between the 20's seemingly at will.

In the red zone, though, it's another story.

JJSS is an immediate upgrade on Rogers, Ayers, Coates, DHB, etc. in terms of being a legit red zone target for Ben (or contributing as a blocker for Bell or Conner), and should develop into much more than that in time.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

I feel like the Steelers didn't really plan on drafting a WR in round 2 but several things happened by chance that led to it.

                          1. As Ruthlessburgher pointed out it really looked like at least one of several 1st round quality DBs and one ILB would fall to us at 62 which discouraged them from moving up.

                          2. All of those players were taken including Awuzie and Josh Jones right before our pick.

                          3. JuJu likely wasn't expected to be on the board at that point and became the best value at a position that they planned to address in either round 2 or rounds 3-6.

IMO by upgrading the talent at WR they helped to win games so I'm glad they didn't settle for a defensive player that they had rated lower.

I,like most here ( I think ) Wanted an OLB, or CB...After the JuJu pick I got to thinking. The plan has is/is/will be ( until Marsha is gone )Is to beat the Cheatriots. Will 1 edge rusher and a CB enough to beat NE...I think with Ben, Bell, AB, Bryant, JuJu, Green...That We would have a better chance of OUTSCORING them, than 1 or 2 defensive guys (drafting at 30 ) jmo...
BTW..I'm a newbie, Been following this board for years, But just started posting, so take it easy on me...lol

And you contested my post that said our receivers are deeper than our secondary. If that is so why did you want not just 1 but 2 secondary players before a receiver INCLUDING a corner as the first pick?

Its OK if you think Mr "chain mover" was BPA over available secondary players. But please dont try to make a case that you really saw receiver as a bigger need when your own words say otherwise..
