My preference is to address right now needs with the first pick in round one. This QB class is weak and I think taking one anytime before round 5 is a mistake.

Nice effort fd. Love Awusie n Jones and they fill needs. T Williams isn't my favorite and he wouldn't be on the field when we were in base as more of a one trick pony so he may not be the best fit for us. Fourth round seems right for where we go running back.1) Chidobe Awuzie - CB, Colorado. Zone, Press or off man.. the kid can do it all.
2) Tim Williams - LB, Bama. Does he last this long? If so... he won't make it past us in the 2nd.
3) Josh Jones S, NCState. Tackling machine. Mitchell 2.0
3 Comp) Isaiah Ford, WR - VTech. Hopefully this kid falls due to a lackluster combine performance. One can wish.
4) Kareem Hunt - RB, Toledo. Crazy production, familiar with running behind zone blocking and productive out of the backfield.
5) Josh Dobbs - QB, Tenn. I think we pull the trigger a little early on this guy because he is a great weapon and a nice transition QB once Ben leaves. He isn't a franchise QB but if you wanted to groom a QB for the future I think this is the guy.
6) Greg Pike - G/OT, Georgia. Strictly for depth. I have no idea since I'm not an OL guy but I think we pick a guy who can fill in at multiple positions if a starter goes down.
7) Isaac Rochell - DL, ND. Depth... strictly for depthComment

Dak was a 4th rounder. No need to over draft a QB in hopes he will be another Dak. I know it's a copy cat league but cmon, we have Ben for 3 more years and he doesn't have a history of missing double digit games. This looks be affair with finding the next franchise QB in this draft needs to stop.If there is a QB sitting there at #30 who has convinced me that he can, at least rise to a Dak Prescott-level, that I think will probably be gone in the second round. I must have him. I can make up ground with my second and two third round picks. Honestly, I would feel more comfortable doing that than drafting a TE.
There is no way you really feel more comfortable with a QB on the bench than a TE who could see the field this season. Wake up from this dream and join the rest of us in reality.Steelers 27

If you felt the next TBrady was sitting there I don't think you would hesitate on a QB. If you knew this could be Roethlisberger's last season, would this change your thinking? Next year's answers might not be sitting there, but I wouldn't have such narrow eyesight.Comment

lmao.. why now tho? Why not last year when there may have been a Tom Brady?
Is this really about finding a franchise QB or just overreacting to Ben's retirement talk?
I find it it odd how THIS year is the year when there may be a Tom Brady or Dak when damn near everyone says it's the thinnest QB stock in a long time.
Now isnt the time to lie to lie about who is the next TB of this draft. What if there is a Lloyd at LB or a Revis at CB? Do you skip them to gamble on a Tom Brady in the first?Steelers 27

You do know the year Brady was drafted was one of the sorriest QB classes ever? One QB taken in the 1st rd and the next not selected until rd 3. The Steelers actually grabbed one in the 5th (T Martin.... who can forget). And 8 QBs were grabbed in rds 6 & 7. All I am saying is if the Steelers believe BR's replacement is there, they need to consider the pick.lmao.. why now tho? Why not last year when there may have been a Tom Brady?

Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.
Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.
We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.
We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.Comment

We were ONE GAME away from the Superbowl. My ONLY first round priority is someone who will help makeup the gap between us and the Pats. Unless we draft a QB who can bring heat on Brady or cover his receivers, I aint interested....at least in the first three rounds. If there is a QB sitting there at #30 who has convinced me that he can, at least rise to a Dak Prescott-level, that I think will probably be gone in the second round. Again I will make the point, if a QB is a clear franchise level QB, there is no way he makes it to us. Yes, it can happen but you have to think Colbert who has ZERO history of being smart about QBs relative to the league will for the very first time outsmart everybody who had a shot at this kid.sigpic

I would love the Chidobe Awuzie pick. He is incredibly smart, has played nickel, outside, safety, had excellent production and an exceptional SPARQ score. Found this on another site and found it interesting: http://www.bloggingtheboys.com/2017/4/13/15257532/finding-the-superior-athlete-sparq-cornerbacks-in-the-2017-nfl-draft
The Steelers have shown interest in Tim Williams and he can get after the QBs. If they feel his head is on straight I wouldn't be surprised if he was picked.
Josh Jones would be an awesome pick in round 3.
From everything I've read and listened to, it sounds like the Steelers have shown interest in Dobbs. I guess if they're going to take a chance on a QB he is probably the most likely selection even though I personally would prefer Jerod Evans.
I'm not familiar with the rest but like the positions.sigpic

Willar that's probably because you realize spending a first on a QB doesn't break our SB aspirations and drafting an OLB doesn't make it anymore obtainable (at least this season). You probably also realize Ben has 1-2 years left and if he is irritated by the drafting of a rookie he might extend that to 2-3 just because I could see Ben doing it. Also, wouldn't it be nice not to have two decades of Bubby Bristers? If there is a QB sitting there at #30 who has convinced me that he can, at least rise to a Dak Prescott-level, that I think will probably be gone in the second round. A first round defender can definitely have an impact this year in sub packages. We just witnessed 3 rookies have an impact on our defense last year. Not 1 but 3. It's foolish to suggest a player couldn't contribute to our success this year after watching it happen last year.
What a terrible argument to make.Steelers 27
