2) Tim Williams - LB, Bama. Does he last this long? If so... he won't make it past us in the 2nd.

3) Josh Jones S, NCState. Tackling machine. Mitchell 2.0

3 Comp) Isaiah Ford, WR - VTech. Hopefully this kid falls due to a lackluster combine performance. One can wish.

4) Kareem Hunt - RB, Toledo. Crazy production, familiar with running behind zone blocking and productive out of the backfield.

5) Josh Dobbs - QB, Tenn. I think we pull the trigger a little early on this guy because he is a great weapon and a nice transition QB once Ben leaves. He isn't a franchise QB but if you wanted to groom a QB for the future I think this is the guy.

6) Greg Pike - G/OT, Georgia. Strictly for depth. I have no idea since I'm not an OL guy but I think we pick a guy who can fill in at multiple positions if a starter goes down.

7) Isaac Rochell - DL, ND. Depth... strictly for depth

1) I like him...quite a bit actually. I would be very happy with this pick.
2) I dislike this pick greatly. The guy is limited, couldn't even find a starter gig in college and is another pot lover with multiple off the field issues. Pass.
3) I haven't done alot of work on this guy but can stand behind a third round safety.
3b) Don't know a ton about him.
4) Kareem Hunt is being talked about as a second to third rounder. I believe getting him in the 4th would be a value pick if he fell that far. I have a 4-5 round grade on him. Complete back but isn't special at anything. I don't dislike him but I don't see anything special.
5) Dobbs is interesting. I watched his tape and was left VERY unimpressed. With that said, there are scouts who have fallen in love with this guy...they believe his failure in college was due to the talent around him.
6) I did no study on OL this year.
7) I'm rarely a fan of selecting top schools players in the later rounds. I think 5-7 is that place to take some chances on some guys from smaller schools who dominated at that level. Rochell is a classic depth guy who's mentality for football I really like. With that said, I think he is very limited and a tweener to play DE in our system.

In a nutshell - I absolutely love the idea of getting an aggressive, playmaking CB who has other aspirations besides just (tackling the catch!) Put him opposite of Burns, have Cockrell for quality depth. Now you're talking!

I am also feeling the need to draft a QB for grooming purposes while hoping he might surprise me, in the likes of, Dak Prescott. Dobbs is intriguing because he is so smart. With those type of brains, he at least should be able to decipher a defense pretty quickly.

With so many quality pass rushers, we have to at least be able to get two of them. An influx of pass rushers don't come around very often, and with that being one of our major weaknesses, I am trying to snatch at least 3 of them. Everything else is gravy after that.

Sure, we can. I expect Ben to play this thing out until he can get us one more ring. Especially for the memory of Mr. Rooney! Then after that, all we will need is a QB to replace him. That is how I am believing this will play itself out!!!

I like your mock, particularly Awuzie and Jones. Just like with the offensive line a few years ago, the Steelers could finally convert the secondary from a weakness to a strength.

I'm not a fan of Williams in the second. I'd prefer Rivers or Willis. But like the overall approach.

I've begun to warm up to Awuzie once I did some digging on him. If we went that route in round one, then we better damn sure come back with Willis/Rivers in round two. With Willis being the preference.

From round 3 on is pretty good. Answers alot of needs.

If Colbert take a QB in the first, he'd better be right about him long term. Short term, we'd be hard up to answer "adequately" all our immediate needs by using a first rounder on a QB.

I will complain about it. I once said Watson was the only QB I would take at 30 but I'm lying. I would be furious if we wasted a first rounder on a QB.

Me too. This is a championship level team with a franchise QB that has real needs on the Defensive side of the ball. Taking any of these QB's would be a serious mistake, IMO.

If there is a QB sitting there at #30 who has convinced me that he can, at least rise to a Dak Prescott-level, that I think will probably be gone in the second round. I must have him. I can make up ground with my second and two third round picks. Honestly, I would feel more comfortable doing that than drafting a TE.

I get what you're saying. I don't want a TE early either. However, I also don't think that a QB like that is in this class. Next year will be a much better crop to pick from.
