Jabril Peppers, DB, Michigan

I can see a real parallel developing similar to what happened when we drafted Shazier (which I called) and Peppers. Super athletic speed player at a position of need. We know how much speed is now valued on the team. Peppers isn't getting a bunch of hype out of the Southside just like when Shazier was under the radar.

Personally I'd prefer an EDGE rusher but I think they will be intrigued by the many ways they can use Peppers. Additionally, this draft is very deep with EDGE guys so they can get one in Round 2 or 3...maybe both.

Based on his combine numbers, he's taller than Larry Fitzgerald, quicker than Darren Sproles, faster than Devin Hester, and jumps higher than Odell Beckham Jr.

Plus he's four year starter whose stats have improved steadily from year to year, so he's not just an underwear Olympics hero. He's a unique matchup guy who they may not be able to resist.

I like him too. Looks like "the answer" against elite tight ends. I think he will continue to move up. If he got too much interest I would even trade up a couple spots to beat someone to get him.

A four-year starter with those measurables who isn't at the very top of the board? That is a bit of a turn-off if you ask me. A guy with those measurables and that experience should: lock up Gronkowski, blanket Le'veon Bell, and handle Julio Jones in a pinch.

As for Peppers, I'd like it if we didn't already have a guy like that (Shazier). Actually I'd still like it because the bottom line is that it would add speed/playmaking to our D, but I gotta think there is a better cover guy out there. After all, when Hulk Hogan's son goes off for 180 against you, you need help.

Peppers' single interception in his college career scares me. He may have spent too much time concentrating on playing linebacker, multipurpose offensive weapon, return man, etc. on the college level to develop the necessary instincts needed to be an effective cover safety at the next level.

I think its going to be TE, Njoku...BPA who fits a big need! Colbert was his proday, and might be fishing Kayye for info about him.

All th OLB from pick 30 to end of 2nd are sort of bunched together, each has strengths and flaws, It is deep draft to get a good one in the second (Rivers, Willis).

Add in there is enough DB talent to grab a good one in the 3rd.


My second choice for round 1 would be LB Cunningham.

i cannot disagree more. jesse has exceeded expectations and is reported to be bigger and better and the team hung on to green. i find TE to be WAAAAAAY down our list of needs. hell, i would take qb before a TE and i dont want a qb
