PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers set the first mandatory practice dates of their offseason on Monday.
Minicamp will begin on June 13 and run through June 15. It will follow three weeks of organized team activities (OTAs) on May 23-25, May 30-June 1 and June 5-8.
OTAs are technically voluntary. Minicamp is not.
The team's announcement follows the release of the OTA dates, which were made known in mid-March. The NFL Draft concludes on April 29, leaving rookie minicamp as the last piece of the Steelers' offseason schedule to be announced.
Rookie minicamp includes Draft picks, undrafted rookie free agents, tryout players and particularly inexperienced players previously signed to the team.
OTAs are limited to six-hour days. In minicamp, teams are allowed to require players to be at their facility for 10 hours. Neither allow for full pads or live contact.
