Just read this... 1 year up to 4.65 million. Seems damned cheap for a guy who's coming off a pro bowl year... and had 149 tackles last year.

I wanted to see the Steelers try to get him ... and at that price, it seems like it would've been a good deal. However, the fact that he lasted this long and didn't command a bigger salary makes me wonder if there's something I'm missing ... Drug problems? Domestic issues? Lack of stamina (his production dropped off some toward the end of the season)? Bad locker room guy?

Brown had a good season in 2016, but has been a starter on several teams with losing records...I don't know if Brown is actually an upgrade over Vince Williams...

When Williams number was called last year, he started four games and in those games recorded 35 tackles and 2 sacks...that's pretty good for that sample size...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

agreed, but makes you wonder why they went after hightower so hard tho

Because they view Hightower as an elite, versatile player that can used in different ways on defense...Vince is solid...I think he'll be as solid as Zach Brown, but I think the Steelers felt Hightower is special...apparently, they don't feel that way about Brown...
