This thread is starting to cross over into political debate rather than football. There is enough dissension among Steeler fans about things related to football without us getting into political debates regarding the meaning of Trump, etc. And so the very direction this thread has taken is Exhibit A as to why nobody wants Kaepernick. He is simply not good enough (not even close) for a team to want to invite the headache of bringing a political divisive player who will divide the fan base and possibly the locker room.

There seems to be a group of people on here that are shrugging the shoulders and saying, well, I agree with him and think his protest was worthy and I support him, etc. Well guess what? Roughly 50% of everyone else doesn't agree with you. They don't see the world the way you do. They don't see Kaepernick the way you do. They don't want him here, period.

Those people may be wrong. Or you may be wrong. Or perhaps the truth is somewhere in between. But from the perspective of management and coaching staff, it does not matter because Kaepernick is not worth the baggage he brings with him.

Touche... almost forgot about that. I think a few Patriot players said they wouldn't go this year because of Trump and a few talkin heads were angry.

Its funny how some players like Brady always get a pass.

It seems you agree with me...

If Kaepernick was good, NFL teams wouldn't give a $#!+ about whether or not he stood during the National Anthem...he'd have a job...I still think he will get a job after the president begins tweeting about something else...

I have no problem with him choosing to sit, although I always stand during the Anthem and encourage all of my students to do so, though I cannot make them...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

This pretty much sums it up for me also.

That is a function of collective bargaining, not any constitutional right.

Doesn't have to be a constitutional right, there is no NFL rule that says you must stand, so if they tried to discipline for that then he would have some legal recourse.

i don't think the president has anything to do with it. I think Kap hit his ceiling too early and isn't that good. Also believe teams will probably sign him during NFL the season when a QB goes down.

And that's exactly it. He isn't that good. He can't read defenses for strangers and teams have the film on him to know this. He's a backup.

He should never have cheated on Sandra Bullock.

Robbing all those stagecoaches and banks may not have been the best idea either.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Just read today where Jesse said that key to his improvement during the season was losing the extra pounds he'd put on before it began. Sounds like he's figured out his ideal playing weight, which should help him get off to a better start in the upcoming campaign. I hope he taps his potential, especially since we don't know if the team can count on Ladarius Green.

Brad, I thought he did fine late in the year. Seemed to figure himself out and where he fit in. Why can't he be our featured TE? Is there something I'm missing on him?

i will be upset if they draft a te this year, regardless of round

Me too because I believe in James from what I saw. We don't need a super speedy TE. That's a luxury for us that we can't afford considering our other areas of real need.
