I would agree this is the most likely scenario. I don't believe Mixon makes it to us in the 2nd, and I don't think they would spend a first on him or any RB for that matter. I think the top guys are long gone before our pick in the second. So, your reasoning makes sense. The ONLY scenario where I could see the Steelers grabbing Mixon is if he falls mid 2nd and the Steelers trade up to grab him...which again is unlikely.
Report: Steelers will come to terms with Le'Veon Bell

Telling you, look at the bottom of round one for example, Raiders, Packers and Patriots could go Mixon easily. Then, at the top of round two, Browns will go Mixon..better then 50/50 chance they do. Remember, they don't have nothing at runningback at the present moment. IMO, Mixon definitely will not get past the Browns in round two.Comment

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.
We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.
We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.Comment

Exactly..they about to punk the Saints or Browns any day now. And I forgot to mention the Giants are down there too.Comment

Not a shock. Bell doesn't want to play on tag & Steelers don't want the guaranteed hit. They will work out fair deal.Comment

I also think that the Steelers might have some leverage at this point. With Bell's history with injuries and suspensions he might have a better idea of how fragile life in the NFL is and he may be less comfortable that many playing on a 1 year deal.Comment
