"same bloodlines"... if there was another Manning that was borderline 1st rounder, would you be opposed to taking him? I know that I would take him.

And if Clay or Bruce Matthews had another son, I'd take him, too.

I have no problem with it. if someone's play on the field makes them a borderline 1st-2nd rounder, and someone wants to snag him in the first because of bloodlines, I can't blame them.

I understand that (I was just being a dumb ass) and it may be true to a small extent, but I've watched him a lot in game situations and his tape. He has barely 2 years of experience on the edge and defense altogether. He does a lot of things very well and is going to be very good. He may be better than his brother or worse, but either way he'll be good. I'd bet my shoes on it.....

I haven't seen enough of Watt to put him up with his brother. For every Manning there are 5 Jordans (not really but a ton of star athletes have kids who don't make it) who had kids who weren't anywhere near as good even though they had the bloodlines. It's actually rare to find 2 studs in the same family.

Not saying Watt won't be good, great, etc but it has nothing to do with his bloodlines. Some families have more than 1 kid who are great at the same sport but most do not.

the lack of experience by TJ is a concern. I think he may struggle to live up to expectations. Its great for his pockets though.

IMO Watt is a solid mid to late 2nd Round pick based on actual performance which is really a one year body of work.

It is the familial rep that is getting him mentioned in Round 1 which IMO would be a reach because he is work in progress. May turn out to be a great pick late in Round 1 but don't expect double digit sacks in year 1 or 2.

Before the combine, I mocked Watt as our first rounder and no one agreed. Post combine, most in the media now have him as a late first rounder. Here on Planet Steelers, he's lucky to get a 2nd round grade with some giving him a third.
