Ruth, I'm trying to win a Super Bowl in my franchise QB's 2-3 year window. I'm not about coddling a guy who can't stay healthy. We are a few players away from really being the best team in the AFC. I'm trying to get there. Guy can't stay healthy; Next man up.

And you have a guy with 2nd round talent on an affordable contract for 2 of those 3 seasons. If you cut him, who do you replace him with? A less talented veteran corner who would likely cost more money against the cap? Golson's cap hit for 2017 is slightly more than 4th string TE David Johnson, and slightly less than 5th string WR Darrius Heyward-Bey. Whaddaya say we see what we have in this kid in minicamps, OTA's, and training camp before throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Am I wrong? Both players were counted on to be part of rebuilding the defense. Because both were miserable failures we are still rebuilding. Guess that is off limits topic

Jarvis was only weak and slow because he spent so much of his time haunting Oviedo's dreams.

Nightmares for both me and the front office. One of their worst 1st Round misses

He's gone, why do you still feel compelled to want to cut him a break?

I want a break from your obsession. This thread is about Shamarko.

Appreciate your attempts at being the board psychologist but the thread was about Shamarko another one of the players that failed in the turn around of the defense. Addressing the big picture of the mistakes that were made which still has us trying to turn the corner on defense is relevant. Since both Thomas and Jones were failed draft picks from the same 2013 draft it is very relevant to "try" to discuss what went wrong and the adverse impact on the team.

Perhaps the better question is why avoid discussing the failure of those two picks since they are linked to our current problems. Perhaps your psychological expertise would be more valuable in that vein to determine why someone wants to ignore a problem and wish it away versus discussing it.

Good Lord! You've been discussing it non-stop for the last four years! If you want to discuss it some more, start a new thread instead of highjacking this one!

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:
