    Mel Kiper 3.0

    Link below:

    http://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2017/insider/story/_/id/18970947/mel-kiper-2017-nfl-mock-draft-30-round-1-picks

    A few interesting notes:

    - McKinley to Bengals at 9
    - Reddick to Saints at 11
    - Tyus Bowser to Steelers (has Charles Harris off the board at 21, but Carl Lawson, Derek Rivers and TJ Watt, among others, still on the board).

I'd be happy with Bowser in the second, but I haven't seen him listed by anybody as a first round pick yet.

      It says:

      30. Pittsburgh Steelers

      Tyus Bowser, OLB, Houston

You might remember Bowser from the time he got in a fight with a teammate and broke an orbital bone the day before a game, but he has made a name for himself from his play on the field, too. He had 8.5 sacks and 12 tackles for loss for the Cougars in only eight games last season. Bowser (6-3, 247) is perfect for a 3-4 team like the Steelers, and he is rising up draft boards after testing incredibly well at the combine with a 4.65 40 and 37.5-inch vertical. Pittsburgh brought back James Harrison , who at 38 could be a mentor to Bowser.

If we pick Bowser in the first 2 rounds I'll find Colbert and kick him. Mel Kiper is brain dead. Bowser gets swallowed up by tackles and at times TEs. Isn't explosive at all and I question his playing strength. He does understand the position though and wouldn't be a bad pick in rounds 3-6.

I wonder how much agents pay Kiper to make some of these picks.

Yep. You best believe there is money changing hands every time he updates a mock.... hate the dude, but knows how to market himself.

Only thing about him is his last name. I wouldn't draft him in the first..even if the Steelers are at the end. Watt would be my pick (depending on who was still available). I still think Rivers is a third or fourth round pick..but someone will reach for him.

I don't think Kiper has ever got any pick correct. Dude is a great hype machine but I rarely see him predict a puck that comes true.

Yeah, I never watch ESPN draft coverage with Kiper and McShay.

Much prefer former Steeler draft pick Mike Mayock on NFL Network.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Someone finally agrees with me about TJ Watt! A month or two ago everyone on here was calling me an idiot for having him as our first pick...

Actually Kipers final mock each year is one of the more accurate in the industry. This is mainly due to his connections and what people tell him more so than his own ability to evaluate talent. Check back in a month and you'll see a mock draft much closer to what will actually happen.

The best final mock submitted a day or two before the draft tended to be Rick Gosselin from Dallas until he stopped doing it a few years ago.
