    Davon House to Visit Steelers

He was released by Jacksonville after playing for a few years in Green Bay. He played well in 2015 but struggled last year. He has decent size (6' 200lbs) and speed. He would compete with Cockrell on the outside.

Since he was released, he would not count against the comp formula.

He's an outside corner, so the Steelers would still need to find an option for the slot. I haven't watched a ton of him, so I really can't comment on his play.

I read that he had a really good year in 2015, setting a Jaguars record for passes defensed. Then, in 2016, the Jags added Jalen Ramsey through the draft and Prince Amukamura through FA. After four games, the Jags benched him for Amukamura. House says that it was a strange situation, that the coaching staff never told him he wasn't playing well, never told him he was doing anything wrong, just banished him to the bench. (Amukamura did go on to have a really good season.)

At this point we wouldn't get a better corner for reasonable money.

I liked him coming out of college. If I remember right the Steelers did too. He would start across from Artie and bump Cockrell inside

I'm not so sure Cockrell is a slot CB.
I think our best hope at this point of someone covering in the slot is GOLSEN.

Cornerback Davon House hopes a new coach equals a return to his old role as a main contributor in the Jaguars’ secondary. “I’m a good player – I’ve proven it and I’ll prove it,” House said. House…

House said former coach Gus Bradley “never really gave me an answer,” on why he didn’t get more playing time. Jalen Ramsey and Amukamara were locked in as the Nos. 1-2 cornerbacks and House doesn’t play over the slot receiver (Colvin’s spot). But when Colvin was injured, the Jaguars decided to use Josh Johnson in the slot instead of moving Ramsey inside and putting House outside.

Yes both did. Boykins was injured enough to affect his play. And was brought in as a back up. And Gilbert is not a football player. And brought in to see if a new home could wake up that football fire. Nope. See ya.
Come on I get so sick of hearing about these 2 Bench warmers. They could not win over the coaches. There could be million reasons they did not see the field. The chance to play is never guaranteed. Even when A. Blake is the player you are trying to replace. Go get it if your that good. Stay out of the tube and off the table. Blah so many entitled players now that just don't get it. Be JH go get your position!

Packers signed CB Davon House, formerly of the Jaguars, to a one-year contract.
House visited the Steelers Tuesday morning, but he must not have liked what he heard. It is a homecoming for the corner, who the Packers selected in the fourth round of the 2011 draft. House should compete for a starting job.

If we are not going to make a fair offer to these guys, then we need to stop calling them. We could have told his agent the offer over the phone. Irritating how Colbert keeps thinking he can low ball quality players.

colbert must be one of those POS garage salers. you know, the ones that ask if you will take a nickle for something that has a dime marked on it.

He pulled such a dick move. Doing that while in the Steelers complex while on a visit? Total disrespect.
