    Stephen Tuitt extended

    Great move

Can we cease the bitchin and moaning about the FO. They clearly have a plan given the resources they have

Sorry. Jumped gun. Plan is to finish deal in August per pit247.com.

But comment remains...there is a plan

Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

          Let's rephrase the question...

What is the FO doing immediately... to address secondary needs in a way that's going to set us up for a run this coming year? Are we going to try to set the table for Ben to make one final run before he retires?

Tuitt not a done deal yet. If they're planning to wait until August, there's a decent chance it won't get done this year, IMO, since the Steelers won't negotiate once the regular season starts. I'm not going to get too excited about the extension until it's actually completed -- after all, just a few days ago, re-signing Timmons was supposedly their "top priority."

No. Antonio Brown was our top offseason priority. Le'Veon Bell was our next priority. That was pretty obvious
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Yes, but once they got those deals done, Timmons was supposedly the Steelers' "top priority" ... according to Fittipaldo's report, anyway (see link I cited above).

Yes there is a plan and it involves not overpaying for middle of the road players thereby reducing the available funds you have to extend a player like Tuitt

How does this pertain to next year? I am ok with that plan but I'm not sure how that's setting the table for Ben next year.

That's like saying that Javon Hargrave was our top draft pick, once we got those Artie Burns and Sean Davis picks out of the way. Top priority means priority #1, not priority #3.

No, but I am unhappy that they need help and Cockrell, Gay and Mitchell are the help.

Go back to the article I cited, and read really S-L-O-W-L-Y. It was written AFTER the Steelers had signed Brown and Bell ... and its report was that at THAT point (not before), signing Timmons was their "TOP PRIORITY."
