    Fussing of the Pats

I know I am going to get a lot heat on this, but I am kind of sick of people keep on looking on how to stop the Patriots. I understand the frustration, I feel the same, they are just sooo freaking good, that I almost can't stand them.

I agree mostly likely the road to the superbowl goes through them, but we have to look within our division first, we barely won the division, lucky we had AB and his effort to cross the goal to win against the Ravens. Let's focus on how much they improve, Cincy will be Cincy ( tough, but looks like they are back to rebuild mood with their FA loses) , and the Browns should drastically imrove.

BAck to last year, who know what would of happen if Carr didn't get hurt, LA would of won their division and mostly likely we hould of have to face them, instead of KC. And KC would of played the Patriots, who I think match up well with them.

And the gap in AFC is getting more competive, I think the elite are: NE, KC, LA, and can't count out on Denver, Houston with Watt and without Oswelled, and Miami ( i think they will be the most improved squad) and don't forget the Ravens.

Regardless, we need to continue building the D and find the missing pieces on O.

    The Raiders aren't in L.A.
    The Rams and Chargers are.
They may be in Vegas soon.
But for now it's still Oakland.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

I hear ya, but it's not JUST about adding players. The schemes against elite QB's is all wrong. You can't play a base zone defense against the Brady and Rodgers of the league. That works against the Andy Dalton's of the league.

We have a two fold problem: Adding more talent and changing defensive schemes. We have to solve both, or we are not winning jack.

There is probably some truth in what your saying. But let's talk real talk...at some point we have to address how to beat this specific team! The Broncos did!!!

Elway targeted the Patriots and the Broncos went to 2 Super Bowls because they figured them out! We have to take a page from Denver and do the same. Why does that bother so many people???

Here's a question: why are you saying "KC matches up well with NE"? Why can't that be the Steelers defense that matches up well? What exactly are the Steelers doing to make that matchup improve?

I think you are right, why can't our defense like the kc's D... I think it is all the talent they have as DBs.

REAL DEAL....I think you stand correct, the D game plan was all wrong. The one time, I remebered that we destroyed NE, we swithced up on them and pressed- man covered their WRs.

But I think everyone gets my point, we can not overlook the rest of AFC.

just because he says it doesn't make it true. How many times have the Chiefs made it to the AFCCG?

I still think we match up the best with NE out of all the AFC Teams with a shot at a SB but we have to bring our A game and that rarely happens.

Freaking Bell with his injury.... it's always something when we play that team.

Every year people talk about KC and every year they come up short. REAL short.

I totally agree. We can't over look the rest of the AFC but by us being able to effectively play man defense, we automatically get better against the rest of the AFC too. Playing man and upgrading our pass rush; how is that also not going to be effective against the rest of the AFC?

We need to get the cornerbacks to play a base man defense when we have to; We need to get our linebacker corps/edge rushers up to snuff to the point we can really get after Brady and anybody else. When we do that, we can be the best team in the NFL.

They won't change their defensive game plan vs. the Patriots.

its not just the pats tho.
GB would have shredded us, Atlanta would have shredded us, possibly derek carr,...................this isnt just a NE thing, any elite qb shreds our defensive/secondary scheme

Denver and K.C. aren't exactly revolutionary. They just happen to have the likes of Von Miller/DeMarcus Ware/Shane Ray, Aqib Talib/Chris Harris/Bradley Roby, Justin Houston/Tamba Hali/Dee Ford, and Marcus Peters/Philip Gaines/Steven Nelson on their rosters. We in the process of trying to find our versions. We've been able to add Bud Dupree and Artie Burns in the last couple of drafts...now let's add another young, talented edge rusher and corner to the mix.

Unfortunately, until the Steelers can beat the Patriots the rest isn't good enough, 18-1 and a loss to the Pats puts them in the same place as this year, an AFCCG loss, nice record, but no hardware.
