After watching these TE's at the combine...I'd be disappointed if we selected one in Rd 1. This is the deepest and most talented TE group I've seen...maybe ever. The 3rd round comp pick may be a good place to take one...but I wouldn't go any higher than that.
TE's...after the combine

We never know for sure but got to believe we double up again on D first 2 rounds. After that anything goes imho Mixon or Butt could be in play come the 3rd round.Comment

have to disagree with this. of the three guys listed, one is a good #2, another has a head like a cantaloupe, and the last is just a step above a PS player. in a league where TEs can cause such nightmare matchups for an opposing defense that's hardly adequate. the steelers are meeting with too many TEs to make me think its not a priority in their minds. my guess is they use one of their 3rds on one. in a deep class a decent prospect is gonna get pushed down
maybe the kid from Michigan fits the billComment

I included small school behemoth Adam Shaheen in my early mocks. Still interested, but we may now need to use an earlier pick than I originally thought.Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.
Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.
We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.
We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.Comment

James is a very good #2 but a borderline starter. He improved vastly last year, but I don't think he'll ever be somebody that really challenges a defense. If you can add another weapon at that position in such a deep class, I think you have to consider it.
I wouldn't take a TE above an edge rusher. This seems to be a year where need matches the depth in the draft. But after the first, I think you have to consider it.Comment

I really liked how he looked.
Maybe our second 3rd round pick, but only if we knew Green still had medical issues"My team, may they always be right, but right or wrong...MY TEAM!"Comment

The emergence of Jesse James pushes any TE need back.
Grimble is not the answer. I'd look in the 3rd for a TE (maybe 2nd if no DB is on the board assuming we go OLB in the 1st)Here We Go Steelers, Here We Go...

After watching him at the combine, and googling highlights, I would take a look at Njoku out of Miami. Although, if they think that Green is back next year then no TE period.Comment
