I don't know about that. When the Steelers signed Woolford he had 32 career interceptions in 8 seasons. Revis has 29 interceptions in 10 seasons and yes, I've heard all about Revis Island. Woolford was a former Pro Bowler too but the Steelers signed him when he was over 30 and all washed up too. I see no reason to pursue a repeat.Obviously the standard is the standard.Comment

A guy had a good idea for a contract over on depot's comments. 2yr contract vet min/1mil 1st year so he still gets paid around 5mil from the Jets. 2nd for 2mil guaranteed maybe a little more. He has to be a upgrade to Gay? Play in different sub packages even as the safety? If they really want to play more dime and man coverage with press why not? Does Revis need "hidden" in zone coverage now? Maybe depending on the WR's. Easy to cut also I would think but no contract guru. Could be a good vet guy to help other CB's also as he has been in a few different defensive schemes. Just like any FA gamble. Could turn out great or not. I would hope for a JH type play in the secondary.Last edited by SS Laser; 03-17-2017, 12:47 AM.Comment

Here's some insight on Revis:
According to The Ringer's Mike Lombardi, free agent Darrelle Revis remains unsigned because Revis "has not really taken care of his body" and "looked slow" on game tape last season.
Lombardi pointed to 38-year-old Terence Newman as a cornerback who has taken care of himself late in his career, whereas 31-year-old Revis has not. "He played slow. He looked slow," said Lombardi. "Players that gain weight during their career fall off the Earth." Also noting Revis had "two massages a week" during his time in New England, Lombardi believes "no one is going to take the $6 million burden off the Jets," referring to Revis' $6 million in offset guarantees. "I think Revis is begging for a job." Retirement is squarely in play for Revis.

Revis is washed up and trying to steal money from a sucker team who's enamoured with his name and what he "used to" be able to do. He can't play anymore.Comment

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.
We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.
We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.Comment

No..not saying he's soft. Just demanding/Premodonna for a guy who doesn't have it anymore. We don't need the headache in that regard.Comment
