Maybe he had a nagging injury last year. I think he's done as a tier 1 player, but anything can happen. If we were to sign him Id also play him at CB. He is Ross Cockrell good, so...

if they sign him, it will be at CB.. Davis was promising, i don't see the team pushing him to the bench. Also don't see them benching Mitchell at his salary.

They're seeking to get the hometown discount, particularly with any suspension he might have. If it was truly an injury and Revis Island re-opens, it could be a serious steal.

Any reasonable team MUST inquire. Heck, he's younger than Will Gay, who on his best day was 2 tenths slower than Revis...

revis has bitched about every one of his contracts even when he was getting top pay. he isnt giving anyone a discount. his ego wont allow it.
lets forget about this FA. steelers dont sign any big money FAs. they arent gonna start doing with with an old, injured, suspension facing douche

Revis is a bitch himself; always moaning and groaning about his contract 15 minutes after he signes it. I don't want him; he can't play anymore and he'll be getting smoked on he regular. Absolutely no point in signing him. If they do, it's for his name and nothing else.

i don't disagree... just like you wouldn't disagree that you'd at least have to inquire. you know he's going to ask for more and ya move on, but, you at least ASK, right?

You don't spend your time asking douche's what they want. Just call him a douche and hang up.

FWIW, Revis said today he wants to play for the Steelers. Also said he's lost a lot of weight since last season - 10 lbs or so. A quicker, reenergized Revis, even if not the Revis of old - could be a huge asset.

What's interesting is that he has offset language in his contract. So the first $6 million of any salary this year just offsets the guaranteed money he's owed from the Jets. If he doesn't get an offer above that, it makes no difference to him whether you pay him $5 million or the league minimum. The flip side is, for him to make more money by playing, he needs to exceed $6 million.

I'd take REVIS for a reasonable deal.
Tell me a better option at this point??

Revis's odometer might have a lot of miles on it but he can probably play man coverage better than anyone else on the current roster.
Obviously the standard is the standard.

Perhaps the Steelers should remember a one Rod Woodson...

The thought at the time was that Rod Woodson was washed up at CB.

How did that work out for the Ravens? He was pretty damn good as a Safety.

                                It's worth a look IMO.
