that he would be our pick. This is an extremely deep defensive draft and Mahommes checks all the boxes. Knowing the way Colbert thinks, this will be a strong possibility.
Don't be surprised if Pat Mahommes is sitting there at 1/30....

If Colbert does that, then he isn't as smart as I thought he was. We are at red alert at lb and we need DL help and both need to contribute in a serious way this year. F Colbert did something like that then that tells me he's not serious about winning a championship THIS year.Comment

If a lot of scouts are liking him and it being a not so great QB class, one of those guys is going to convince a team to
take him higher then 30 I believe.
I wouldnt be surprised if if he goes top 15.Comment

Yeah that's what I think too. His pedigree and background help him also. I think he could crack top 10 with a great pro day. Little on the short side though.Comment

I'm curious, in your breakdown of his game film what stood out to you as a "third round talent"? Because I see the opposite. The guy has absurd arm strength, incredible accuracy, and terrific improv skills. My ONLY concern when it comes to Pat is the system he played in...and the history of QBs from those systems. But, he checks all the right boxes. As long as he isn't drafted by the Browns, I think he is the next terrific NFL QB.Trolls are people too.Comment

Strong arm, but erratic in college and from a system not great for turning out pro QBs, to say the least. And he measured in at 6'2." He is a project (has the physical tools you look for and the necessary confidence, but his footwork needs a major overhaul and he makes some questionable decisions). He's not a guy who would be able to start right away, but we wouldn't need him to. Perhaps in a few years, you got yourself a Dak Prescott. I wouldn't mind taking a shot on that at #62, but he won't fall that far anyway. Not at #30, though. I expect a team like Houston to take him in round 1.Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.
Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.
We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.
We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.Comment

The games I saw he doe have strong arm but is erratic and a streaky passer...sound like our current back up? We can disagree but if the QB class wasn't so weak he wouldn't be sniffing Round 1.I'm curious, in your breakdown of his game film what stood out to you as a "third round talent"?
