Draft ideas/questions before combine.

I didn't think Peppers was a real option for us until SKL mentioned him. So, I decided to take a look. He is a faster version of Jeremy Cash out of Duke last year. And Cash was graded out as a second rounder by many scouts...ended up not being drafted but making the Panthers as a UDFA. Yes, Peppers can cover better than Cash but Cash had better natural instincts and play recognition. They are similar box safety types...sub package players with no real position.

Peppers will run a blistering sub 4.4 40 at the combine...the dude is FAST. He is as good as Brown on punt returns. He is an average coverage safety, with near zero ball skill. He is a big hitting box safety, and a utility offensive weapon.

I agree SKL, I think Peppers falls out of the first round. I know Tomlin and Co. will get all drooly when he falls to 30, but I hope they pass.

SKL, what do you think about Jabrill Peppers? Do you think he'd be a fit on the Steelers' D?

I think Peppers is a phenomenal athlete. Michigan did this kid zero favors though by moving him all over the field. He has never learned to play one position and has 1 career int. Anyone thinking he is the next coming of Troy will be surely disappointed. Having said that he would be an intriguing weapon. I just don't think our club can take him at 1/30 as he still is a raw player.

Have to agree this kid will test well and he has that extra gear. However guys that test off the charts get drafted high. If Peppers has a great combine I believe he'll be off the board before 30.

I hope he is off the board by then. I don't want Colbert having to think too much if he's on the board when we come up. We don't need to take a swiss knife player in the first round. Not when you consider our other priority of needs. Please, one of you other teams do us a favor and save Colbert from himself.
