I thought that we still had Heyward-Bey under contract for next year too...although he's another guy on the mend.Regarding WR, what the status with Wheaton? If we went into 2017 with a healthy and suspension-free AB, Martavis, Coates, Wheaton, Rogers and Bell's receiving capability, we're set at WR. And we had two other rookies that looked to be serviceable in Ayers and Hamilton.
But there's a lot of question marks in there. It's Martavis' head on straight? Is Coates healed? Is Wheaton healed?Comment

Yes, we really limped into and out of the AFCC game more than I originally thought. Coates had the messed up hand and groin. Bell had the groin. Wheaton was on IR. Hey Bey was hurt. By the 2nd half of the game, the only real threat we had was AB. Fairly easy for the cheaters to game plan around that.
Get everyone healed up and under contract and we don't need WR early in the draft. Plus, we seem to find good WR talent in later rounds anyway.Comment

Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.
Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.
We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.
We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.Comment

I have no idea what you mean.
Would you prefer that they cut Senquez Golson outright today?
What was the point of your comment?
The team thought he had talent worthy of a 2nd round pick when they drafted hjm two years ago.
Are you assuming those talents completely eroded because of two injuries?
The team looks forward to seeing what a healthy Golson looks like in camp this year. As do I.
Oh yeah...do you really want to go to the draft with this poopy front office?Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

I know what you're saying...and to be honest, it's getting annoying. "We have an extra second round pick again this year with Golson because he hasn't stepped on the field yet"
Seriously, if he can't go this season, cut ties with him. Yeah, a second round pick wasted..but by year 3 and not getting on the field, besides practice? You have issues then.2022 NFL Mock Draft

Not sure if I responded to this already but yes? I'm fine paying 27 millions to 2 skill positions that make up 50% of our offense. Both of those guys are responsible for more than 50% of our offense and 8 wins a season.Of course running back that early. I've been saying this for a couple months. I am not convinced Bell gets a long term deal done with the Steelers. Are the Steelers really going to pay out close to 25 million a year for both Brown and Bell? Bell is a spectacular back, make no mistake the best back in the NFL. But, has a propensity to do ignorant things and hasn't reliably seen the field.
I personally think the Steelers threaten Bell with a franchise tag for two years, draft a RB in the first three rounds and tell him to take a hike at 27 yo if he doesn't want to sign a "reasonable" deal with clauses for substance abuse issues. The Steelers not only need a capable back up, but they need insurance. Drafting a running back makes absolute sense.
Indont understand this desire to move on from players we drafted when they are in their prime.
Why do do we need a RB early when it's a deep RB class this year? RB isn't a problem for our team, defensive pressure, coverage and depth on the DL is still an issue. RB is a luxury imo.Steelers 27

why do you insist on putting words in my mouth? I never said move on. I said franchise him for two seasons then decide what you are willing to pay a 27 year old running back. We can ill afford to lose Bell or Brown. The question is how do we do it and for how long. Not sure if I responded to this already but yes? its what he does.
a lot of fans here that own jerseys of their favorite players always ay, 'pay the man'. they dont care if the rest of the team suffers.
you are absolutely correct, bells stupidity to do drugs and his ability to always get hurt puts the steelers in the drivers seat. lets see if they use that to their advantage.steelers = 3 ring circus with tomlin being the head clownComment

I think we all look forward to seeing what he can do. The question is, do you count on him, or do you see anything from him as a bonus? Personally, I think it's a huge risk to count on Golson. First, we don't know if the injuries have sapped any of his quickness, which is particularly concerning with a small guy. Second, we don't know if his body can make it through an NFL season.I have no idea what you mean.

I'd approach free agency and the draft as though he's never going to play. The worst case scenario is that you end up with extra depth in the secondary. On the flip side, if you count on him like a second round pick, you can get really burned going into the season with just Golson and a quickly aging William Gay manning the slot.Comment

IDK, that's a lot of $ to put into 2 guys. If Roethlisberger really is the engine that makes the offense go, he should be able to do it with lesser pieces around him, unless his game is slipping more than we care to admit. Not sure if I responded to this already but yes? It's no secret, the Steelers have done better in the playoffs in seasons where they have had a good run/pass balance.Comment
