I was actually thinking the same thing. No way we beat either of those teams.

      Yep.

I was thinking about last year's playoffs ... Steelers came so close to beating Denver ... and we all bemoaned that ... but if they had beaten the Donks, they'd have gotten smoked by Brady and the *'s, and the *'s would have yet another Lombardi (and now, we'd be hearing how the *'s were the first team to win 3 in a row).

While I do think that we already got further than we "should" have, I would have rather had one more Steeler game (although losing in the SB sucks).

I doubt that we beat the Falcons either, but you do get lucky bounces sometimes. Plus, beating the Pats would have been worth it.

I would always prefer losing in the SB over an AFCCG.

            Me too.

However, I don't think that the Steelers necessarily would have lost to Atlanta. It would have been tough, but Ryan is not a quick release QB, and you can get to him (obviously). I don't know that the Steelers would have been favored, but I'd like their chances against Atlanta better than against NE.

I agree, I don't remember ATL really giving us too much trouble with Ryan at QB. I think that's a team where our zone can work and confuse him into a few bad decisions.

I also think Ben is the perfect QB to beat their defense. He extends plays and doesn't curl up under pressure like Brady.

I like our chances against any team not named the Pats.

Yeah, 62 attempts, 43 completions and 466 yards. While being sacked 5 times and hit a number of other times, on the biggest stage and with the pressure of being behind 25 on the scoreboard.

You can have Big Ben. I'll take the guy that "curls up."

There should be no more talk about Brady being soft or "curling up" under pressure. He's as tough as they come. "Indomitable" is a word that comes to mind.

I still hate him (not personally, but as an opponent), but I have to admire him. He'll probably win a couple more Super Bowls with that kind of drive.

Exactly... the guy is going to be 40 this summer and faced ONE major injury in his career.
Preservation isn't a bad thing especially when it translates into 5 Championships.

I would definitely rather make to the superbowl and WIN! Between the two, as far as losing, I will take the AFCCG loss anytime over a superbowl loss. That GB superbowl loss hurts way more than any championship game loss! Why? Because you were that much closer to winning it all and came up short, ususally by a play or two, maybe three. If you lose in the championship game, I think you just weren't good enough to win it all and still have some work to do.
