For all you "turtle" haters. THIS IS WHY the you go turtle

We are sometimes critical of our coaches.
    Sometimes for good reason.
We could never GET that lead on the Pats.

But sinces the days of Cowher till today we would never blow that lead

But there is a reason we NEVER EVER lose games with even modest 2 TD lead.

As much as you hate it we don't blow big leads because we turtle.

And most of you HATE IT. Despite the fact IT NEVER FAILS US. We have a 20 point lead and win by "only" 6. People complain we ALMOST lost. But it NEVER HAPPENS.

MY Steeler brethren, EMBRACE THE TURTLE. It is the one play calling philosophy that is actually smarter than most teams.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

C'mon man. You know we have the worst coaches. There are better coaches just lined up a the door ready to step in.

This game had many turning points but with 5+ minutes left the Falcons took the ball down to the 20. I thought for sure it would be run, run, run FG. They ran on first and lost 3. They got sacked big on second, then took a penalty and threw on third. It was now 4th and 33 and they were far out of FG range. If they run the ball and the clock then they put it away.

Though I agree with op for the most part, games like the wildcard game against the Bungals in the 2015 playoffs come to mind. I get that we still won that game after blowing a 15 point lead, but please don't pretend like it didn't take a not-so-minor miracle for it to happen.

OTOH, that was ONE game...and the Steelers still ended up winning...

There is a tremendous weight of history on the side of the "turtle" once you take a 2 TD lead...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

I fully admit that the Steelers didn't win that game. Cincy lost it. There would have been no opportunity for a comeback without Jeremy Hill's fumble, Burfict's headhunting, and Pacman's boneheadedness. Carelessness and stupidity allowed the comeback to happen, and essentially gifted a win.

Similarly, New England didn't win this game. Atlanta lost it. There would have been no opportunity for a comeback without Shanahan putting Ryan in shotgun formation and passing on 3rd and 1 midway through the 4th quarter up 16 and calling multiple shotgun passes from within FG range up 8 with 4 minutes or so to go in the game. Carelessness and stupidity allowed the comeback to happen, and essentially gifted a win.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.
