Case and point! When we were down 27-9 in the afccg, I think everybody, pretty much, knew that game was over. When the pats were down 28-3 in the superbowl. I was never excited. With Brady, I knew that game wasn't officially over until the clock struck 00:00

Why do we have to be trolls? For speaking our opinions, and more importantly, speaking the truth! I have been an avid fan of the steelers since the 70's! Born and raised in Beaver Count, PA. I represent Steeler Nation with PRIDE! Now Living here in the DC area and wherever I go! I am a terrible towl, steeler t-shirt, jersey owner and license plate emblem on my Dodge! I absolutely loathe the patriots and almost cried when the won last night. But I will be damned if I deny Tom Brady his greatness! That is just too (yinzer-ish!) The way he gets it done is like nothing I have ever seen and I would take him any and everyday over any other QB in the NFL. So, Stop being in denial!

Tom Brady's greatness has nothing to do with Ben being who he is. They are just different (animals) so to speak!

I don't think their are any trolls in here. But the truth is we are not beating Bellicheck/Brady.

Because we have an average at best coach in Tomlin (fool doesn't know how to develop a a secondary or stop playing zone defense against Brady) and Colbert isn't as good as GM as the Pats have either.

Bottom line, our organization/management is inferior to the Patriots from top to bottom.

So as a fan, I'll just have to wait until Brady retires and/or hope Brady gets hurt which would open the door for us to creep in and win another ring. That's just the hard reality of the situation.

I love Ben and have always been thankful he's been our QB (even with the off-field bone head stuff). But last night watching I realized that even with a 25 point lead for Atl in the second half; the Pats were not out of the game. It's insane to ponder. And the entire team buys in to Brady as able to do any damn thing he wants to do at any damn time (because apparently it's true). Unless Brady somehow has a P Manning level loss of ability I don't see how the Steelers get by NE until he retires.

Disagree with the "until he** retires" bit. The Falcons lost because of bonehead play by the OC and QB at the end, when all they needed to do was just about nothing for 3 plays, kick a FG, and make it a 2-score game with hardly any time on the clock.

IF we had as good a D as the Falcons, and IF our HC/OC/QB were smart enough to not bonehead the game away like they did, we would have won, just like they should have.

Having said that, right now I don't think we can count on doing anything smarter in that situation than the Falcons coaches and QB did, and I'm not convinced we have the horses to pressure the QB with 4 rushers like they did ... I'm just saying this "it's impossible for the Steelers to beat a Brady-led Cheaters** team is crazy IMO.

Just as an FYI, the Falcons were 27th in scoring defense and 25th in total yards defense, so its not like the Falcons were defensive stalwarts.

IMO, the Steelers were out coached to a man vs the Patriots. The offense is good enough, the defense was good enough, the coaching wasn't. The Steelers always seem to get surprised by something that opponents during a game, sometimes they can overcome it and others they can't.

The person that the Steelers need to have retire isn't Tom Brady, its Belichcik.

Falcons were also 31st in red zone defense too. Which is what ultimately killed them. Remember, the Patriots had to also score two 2 point conversions or they would have lost. And did it!

You have to have decent red zone defense; Hell, you need good defense period against them.

I think that the question at QB and Coach are the same.

It's fair to point out that Ben / Tomlin aren't as good as Brady / BB. That is definitely true.

But just pointing it out is kind of obvious / useless.

If Ben wasn't our QB, who would you bring in to improve the situation? Brady isn't available. What are your steps for getting better at QB that give us a better chance of winning the SB over the next three years?

If Tomlin wasn't our coach, who would you bring in to improve the situation? Bill isn't available. Who is available and gives us a better chance to beat the Pats? I wonder how many people would have listed a certain OC before the fourth quarter of last weeks game?

The guys we have on our team are not the greatest of all time. But, I would argue that they are both very good options. I think that changes at QB or Head Coach in the next 3 years or so are more likely to make us less competitive. If you think differently, I'd challenge you to propose who we should bring in as an upgrade at those positions.

Not sure why I'm getting attacked. I in no way advocated for different coaches or QB. We have who we have and they are very good. But watching last night really got me to think about how they'd beat this team and I'm not sure they can under the current conditions. In the last 10 meeting the Steelers are 2-8 with the last meeting being an embarrassing beat down in all phases. And watching the adjustments made during a game that theoretically should have been over was amazing (in a sad way since it's a team I hate). Its a tough reality to face. For a decade the Pats have owned the Steelers and what's going to change?

                            ^^

Agree with much of that. I might say that regardless of their ranking, and their pitiful 2nd half performance, the Falcon's D played just well enough to win last night - the last drive by their offense was game-losing.

And I agree we get outcoached every time we play the **s. But you know what, we get outcoached a lot, look how Hairball over in Baltimore pretty much owns us too, even almost beating us on Christmas day with their huge injury list.

I might wonder if *our* coaching is what stands between us and a SB win, not Bellicheat** or anyone else - even once we get our defensive horses up to speed (which might even be as early as this coming year, IMO). Tomlin just doesn't seem to be a good game planner (especially re: in-game adjustments, his "we're not going to change what we do" ethos is often more damning as an admission of planning/adjustment incompetence than commendable as a statement of determination and will, IMO).

Right now my opinion is - from top to bottom, we're built to win a playoff game or 3 each year, but even with a complete roster it's not clear to me our coaching is strong enough to bring home another Lombardi unless all the stars just happen to line up perfectly in the conference championship and SB, where we're most likely to meet the best coaching in the league. And the Baltimore coaching might even keep us from the playoffs at all if healthy rosters are roughly equivalent.

(Yeah, I'm in a bad mood after last night ... sorry ...)

I agree with you; it's not just Bellichek who owns Tomlin. Hell, Tomlin felt his inferiority so bad that he had to walk in the field of play to stop the Ravens from scoring. If that isn't an indication of "I'm being out coached" I don't know what is. I'm tired and frustrated by an organization who is just sitting there willing to be the Patriots bitc*.
